Those who bothered to vote voted for a change at the top. Yet people here continue to bitch. No surprise.
Allen Hughes made a BIG mistake 8 years ago. My guess is that he has learned from it. We will now all discover whether that is true.
As for Rodney... his newsletters consistently consisted of misspellings and incorrect information that later needed correction. To the point where I wondered about his competence.
Not happy with either Allen or Rodney? A third candidate ran for election as building chairman. And if the 3,000-odd who could not be bothered to vote had showed up at the polls and voted for him he would have won in a landslide.
My overall impression is that the younger generations of Ford/UAW hourly employees are vacant and lazy.

Im in my early 30's so Im not sure where I fall. I think a big part of the problem could be laziness or perception. Voting just isnt a "cool" thing to do. Ive seen plenty of older lazy asses too. Nobody wants to go left out of the plant and waste 5-10 minutes. Probably the same workers like the ones near me who hold their cellphones watching videos while using a power gun and sit on their ass between trucks on their phone only to get up at the last second to shoot their gun to be in the red 10 times a night. People just dont give a shit anymore. I truly think perception is some peoples entire life.

So the people that were put into appointed positions by rodney, will they remain in those positions or does allen appoint new people? Example...trainers, ero, time study??

Question is, where does Rodney go? I remember when Mike Stewart lost Building Chairman election, he was thrown back on the line in trim department.

I believe people elected to union positions still have bid rights, and can get and maintain a bid classification based on seniority.
When they lose an election, they get to exercise those rights as soon as there is an opening in that classification.
I may be wrong on this.
I don't think Mike had enough time at the time to hold a dayshift bid.

The union takes care of their own. He will end up somewhere cushy.
