UAW/LEADEC EXPLANATION MEETING AND RATIFICATION OF THE NATIONAL AGREEMENT - An
Explanation Meeting, including questions and answers, will be held on Monday,
August 7, 2017 starting at 12:00pm at the UAW Local 862 Union Hall at 2702
Chamberlain Lane, Louisville, KY 40245. A Ratification Vote will also take place
at this meeting. We are requesting that everyone attend the meeting where an
explanation of the tentative agreement will be presented. In order to facilitate
both KTP and LAP, we urge all UAW/Leadec members to attend. Copies of the
UAW/Leadec Tentative Agreement are available through your respective Chairperson
at each plant and at both union halls.
The question and answer session will begin at 12 noon; the polls will be opened
for voting beginning at approximately 1:00pm, and will close at 8:00pm. Bring
your copy of the Tentative Agreement with you to the meeting. Representatives
from the International Union UAW, the National Ford Department, the National
Negotiating Team and Region 8, along with Local 862’s Union Officers will be
present at this meeting to explain and answer any questions you may have.
Polls will open on Monday August 7, 2017 at 1:00pm. Polls will close on Monday
August 7, 2017 at 8:00pm at the Chamberlain Lane Union Hall.
2nd ANNUAL RIDERS FOR HEROES RALLY, BIKE SHOW AND SILENT AUCTION - This event
will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the LAP Union Hall, 3000 Fern
Valley Rd (rain or shine) from 1:00pm-7:00pm. The rally will have an awesome
live band line up (including Spare Change Millionaires) food, drinks, exhibits,
vendor supplied adult beverages, and more. We had a very successful year in 2016
and anticipate that 2017 will be much bigger. The cost of admission is $10.00
and will benefit Active Heroes to help prevent veteran suicides. You do not need
to be a motorcyclist to attend; everyone is invited to this event so come out
and support our veterans.
CINCINNATI REDS BASEBALL TRIP– UAW 862 members can register for a chance to go
to a Cincinnati Reds game on August 27, 2017. The UAW Local 862 Recreation
Committee has tickets, a bus, and refreshments available for the trip. The bus
will leave the LAP Hall at 9:30am and the KTP Hall at 10:00am. Approximate
return is 8pm. To register you will need to fill out a registration form and
return it with a $20 cash deposit. Registration forms can be obtained, and
returned, to either UAW Local 862 union hall. Deposits will be refunded to
lottery winners upon arrival for the bus trip or to those not drawn. If you are
selected you will receive a phone call by August 22, 2017. Deadline is 3:00pm on
August 17, 2017.

LIGHT THE NIGHT - The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk funds
treatments that are saving the lives of patients today. LLS is making cures
happen by providing patient support services, advocating for lifesaving
treatments and pioneering the most promising cancer research anywhere and it's
all happening now. Not someday, but today. Each year friends, families and
coworkers form teams to raise money in support of our mission. On Saturday,
September 23rd at 5:00 at Louisville Slugger Field, these teams and their
communities will Light The Night at our walks where we gather together to
celebrate, honor and remember those touched by cancer
