I won't give away my location, or identity.........I like being cryptic and mysterious.
But HOLY SHIT this launch is a mess.
I've thought it, the senior people I've talked to have said it, the engineers/management with any experience under their belt have said it, the launch team has said it.
There are WAAAAAAAAY too many problems to work out, and some of them have been known for months.
I don't know what's up.
New people at the top in charge of the launch? Trying to do it on the cheap?
I don't know, but its going to be a bumpy ride.
Nobody knows nuthin' bout nuthin'

I see the same thing happening at LAP. They hire bosses off the street and put them in pre-delivery. The engineers look like they shouldn't be out after midnight without a note from their mother. The bosses and folks on the line have so much work to do, with very little training I might add, that they don't have time to address issues. In pre-delivery the "flow chart" doesn't work and there are, at all times, 3-6+ drivers sitting in units waiting in line to get on the CAL line. So they pay 3-6 people to sit in line all night long. Geez, how much more efficient can you get than that. They break every safety rule that was ever implemented. Of course the important thing is we cut out jobs and somebody up front got a bonus for that!

HOOOOOOO BOOOOOOYYYYYY
Yeah, this launch is bad. In a different way.
Can't even get a unit out of trim in a weeks time.
They've got problems they haven't even encountered yet.......
We'll be back up to 20+ in a couple of months...............maybe

Yep. Ford has officially put it's head up its own ass on launches and over all quality. We might as well be building 1980 Ford Fairmonts. We actually have managers with engineer in their title but they do not have engineering degrees. At LAP our rebalances are horrible. Same shit goes to the shop daily. They eliminated jobs and added the work to jobs that were already over loaded. Quality is non-existent and the worst I have ever seen.

Hopefully enough people on the internet will find and read this and not buy anything built at LAP causing your plant to close one day. Then you'll really have something to bitch about. How about instead of posting your self-destructive bullshit online for all to see you actually do something that might help your plant?

I have to agree with toddstang, they are self destructing out there now. They are past us doing something to help. You know what they say, if you give a person enough rope they'll hang their self. Sad, very sad.

Sad, very sad. Hopefully potential customers don't find themselves in agreement with toddstang's exaggerated perceptions too. Is he suggesting that things aren't getting repaired like they most certainly are? I've seen a lot of launches and they are always rough but the things you see at first run on the line are generally taken care of before they get out the door...

You think this is a bad launch?
Tesla began production of the much anticipated Model 3 in late July. They projected the production of 1500 vehicles by the end of September.
In fact, by September 30 they had produced 250 vehicles.
THAT is a bad launch.

In theory it looks like a bad launch they are having but seems a bit smarter to stop and fix production issues when they arise on a new launch as Tesla is doing. Bet their yard isn’t full of junk getting repaired that way. Rather get my car few months late then get it on time and have a recall every ninety days. Just my opinion. Stay safe boys and girls!

I was told that they want to run 100 per shift starting Monday. Interesting to see how this unfolds.

I heard the seat covers are now stitched in Mexico and no longer stitched here. This has been a big issue. Rumor, I don't know this 100%.
