So,The U Bodyshop has been sending folks home early all week due to the stop build. They send people home in 2.9 hours whether they want to stay or not. There are several folks back there who are not yet eligible for SWW benefits. Do we not have a 4 hour minimum if you do not volunteer to go home ? Help me out here.

First, you have to have your 90 days in. Second, during a launch the contract is thrown out the window. Per contract. In P body they let the ones without sww clean to get hours. Different supervisor, different ideals.

The 4 hour isnt in effect until 90. During launch, according to contract, all hours are under supervisor discretion. Including the 4 hour minimum, OT, and SWW. Id have union ask if people can at least clean. If an individual asks they will always deny.
Basically during launch period, the company can do what they want. Be prepared though. If they let you get more hours, it might be in a different dept.

Are you on a 5 or 4 day work week in U body? Four day work week gets 5 hours come in pay, not 4. I don't remember reading anything about that NOT being the case under a launch, but ultimately what's written in the contract is much less important than what your local will actually hold the company to. You should really not be on here but asking in the union office, and have someone from bargaining actually SHOW you in the contract the language that allows management to not pay you.

U Body is on a 5x8 schedule. I dont have a dog in this fight. Just think folks should know what theur rights are. There are only a few people back there in that situation, so the majority could care less. Never heard of a "they can do what they want because its launch" clause in the contract. Just became aware of the situation at the end of week. Will be talking to a Bargainer Tuesday.

"They can do what they want" is what the union told the people in P body during their launch. Thats where I got that info.

Yep. Until I had the union to have supervisor let us at least clean to get to 5 hours. They eventually let us stay all day helping other depts until we started building again.
