UAW Local 862 Pool tournament – This year’s tournament will be held January
15, 2018 at Diamond Pub & Billiards at 630 Barret Avenue, Louisville, KY 40204.
Registration will be 12:30pm to 1:30pm for the first 64 players. Entry fee
(green fee included) $15.00. Added Money $300.00. Tables open at 12:30pm till
1:30pm for practice. First, second, and third place will be paid. 8 Ball-Scotch
Doubles-Double Elimination. You must be a UAW Local 862 active or retired
member. Refreshments available and raffles will be taking place during the

Louisville’s holiday in the city – Holiday In The City will kick off with
the 37th Annual Light Up Louisville tradition on Friday November 24, the day
after Thanksgiving, with the usual dazzling array of lights, lights and more
lights, and continue throughout the holiday season with ice-skating at Holiday
Square located at 4th and Jefferson. UAW and Ford are a couple of this year’s
sponsors.
Noon - Holiday in the City ice skating rink opens
4:00pm Children's activities inside Santa's Workshop and live entertainment
begins on main stage
6:30pm Lots of Lights Parade - Starts at Seventh and Jefferson Streets and
heads east on Jefferson Street. The parade will then turn down Fourth Street and
disperse at Muhammad Ali.
8:00pm Light Up Moment - Santa joins Mayor Fischer on the main stage at Metro
Hall to light up the city Christmas tree located at Jefferson Square Park
8:30pm Free pictures with Santa - Metro Hall, 1st Floor
· 11:00pm Holiday in the City ice skating rink closes
UAW Local 862 Special Paint Event – The UAW Local 862 Recreation Committee is
hosting a Special Paint Event and you are invited. It will be held Saturday
January 20, 2018 from 6:00pm-9:00pm (doors open at 5:30p) at the UAW Hall on
Fern Valley Rd. It is free for UAW 862 members and $20 per guest (18 and over).
Artist presented by “Whet Your Palette”. All supplies will be provided and
there is no experience necessary. Local artist will instruct step by step.
It’s a great date night or friend’s night out. RSVP by January 5 at 3:00pm
to attend. Registration forms can be obtained at either UAW Local 862 Union
Hall. Money orders and cash only, no checks.
WORKERS’ COMP QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS – There will not be a workers comp
attorney at the KTP Union Hall on November 27. They will return to the KTP Union
Hall from 4pm-6pm on the following Monday, December 4. We have a workers’
compensation attorney at each UAW Local 862 union hall location each week. The
schedule is as follows: Mondays from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the KTP Union Hall and
Thursdays from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the LAP Union Hall, excluding holidays.

BOXES OF LOVE CHRISTMAS MEAL PROGRAM – Local 862 will continue the tradition
supported by the KTP and LAP Chairpersons in the Annual Boxes of Love Christmas
Meal Program. The complete meals will provide many families a Christmas meal
that some would otherwise not have received without the support of Local 862.
These meals will be assembled at Fourth Street Live on December 21st (10am-2pm)
and delivered on the 22nd (5am-8am). All members of Local 862 are invited to
volunteer on either of these two days.
