UAW BASKETBALL LEAGUE 12/3: Come out and support your UAW Brothers and Sisters
and LAP Union Hall starting this Sunday at 1pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.

COMPETITIVE BONUS 12/10: All full time employees who are on active rolls as of
11/15/17 will receive $250 on pay ending week 12/10/17. (Volume 4A pg.304)
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING 12/12: The monthly membership meeting will be held on
Tuesday December 12th, at 2 pm and 6 pm at the LAP Union Hall on Fern Valley
Road. Please make every effort to attend one of the Union Meetings. For all new
members, who have yet to be sworn in, please come to either of the meetings so
you can formally be sworn in.
ADOPT-A-CHILD 12/15: We will be holding our annual Adopt-A-Child program at LAP
Union Hall on December 15th from 5:30pm to 8pm. This year we will be helping
over 100 kids. Everyone is welcome to attend. We would like to sponsor 200 kids
plus kids but need to raise $40,000. To date we have raised 25,452. All
donations can be given to your quality leader or process coach.
33rd ANNUAL UAW BOWLING TOURNAMENT 12/26-12/27: Local 862 proudly hosts the 33rd
Annual Bowling Tournament at Strikes and Spares Executive on Phillips Lane. Its
25.00 per person. There is a Team Event and Singles/Doubles event. Entry forms
may be picked up at either Union Hall or in the “in plant Union Office”.
Please submit the completed forms and money order or cash to UAW Local 862 and
turn into the Financial Secretary no later than Friday December 15th. Spots are
limited and filling up fast.
PATHWAY TO SKILLED TRADES APPRENTICESHIP 1/8-1/19: Transcript submissions for
employees completing all three IRCP classes in 2017 will be held in the Main
Cafeteria on the following days and times: January 8th-12th, January 16th-19th
from 4pm to 6pm daily. Employees must request transcripts from their providers
for submission and classes completed by December 31st, 2017. Please visit our
website uawford.org/apprentice/ to view “Power of Trades” PDF. Trade
selections will be made at the transcript submission meeting. For any additional
questions regarding the UAW/Ford Apprenticeship Program please contact Local

WHET YOUR PALLETTE 1/20: The Recreation Committee is hosting its 2nd Annual
Paint Event “Whet Your Palette” on January 20th at LAP Union Hall. All UAW
862 members are free, $20 for guests. This is an adult event, only 18 and over.
All supplies will be provided and no experience is needed. Step by step
instructions will be given. Please RSVP by January 5th at the LAP Union Hall.
Cash or money orders only. Everyone is welcome. Great date night or friends
night out.
PRAYERS CHRISTMAS TREE: If anyone has lost someone this year, or know of someone
fighting an illness or injury you can drop a name in the basket at pole location
A-5 and a snowflake will be added to the tree in their honor. It can be anyone
that you have lost. This is open to all crews. See Diana Serrano (313-443-1312)
or Reese Sayles (502-930-0081) for details.
RESTROOM/BREAKROOM RESPECT: We all use the restrooms. Please be mindful of your
fellow Union brothers and sisters while you are in the restroom and breakrooms.
Clean up after yourself. Treat the work restrooms as if you were at home. Leadec
can only clean so fast and get back around to do it again.
CLOTHING DRIVE: We are holding a clothing drive for St. Vincent DePaul for
homeless Vets. Drop off all donations at the in-plant Union Office in the Red &
Green Box downstairs. All sizes accepted.
RIDERS FOR HEROES: RFH shirts will be sold in the main café at the Charity
Corner. All proceeds go to Active Heroes. RFH shirts $15 and rally $5.
ICE REPORTING: If there is ice at the turnstile when you are entering the plant,
please notify process coach to call Facilities on channel 11 to have ice melt
put down.
