KTP SKILLED TRADES Local contract ratification vote – Polls open Thursday,
December 14 at 6:00pm and polls close on Sunday, December 17 at 7:30am at the
KTP Union Hall located at 2702 Chamberlain Lane. The previous dates were
postponed due to the tragic loss in the plant of one of our own members, Ivan
Bridgewater. Please continue to keep his family and co-workers in your thoughts
and prayers.
Diversity Celebration Dinner/dance – Let’s celebrate our differences at the
UAW Local 862 Civil & Human Rights Committees’ Diversity Celebration
Dinner/Dance that will be held Saturday, February 17th at the LAP Union Hall on
Fern Valley Road. Meet and Greet Cocktails will be 7:00-8:00pm and the
Dinner/Dance will be 8:00-12:00am. Tickets are $15 a person or $25.00 per
couple. Dress is semi-formal. Beer and cocktails will be available, music by
DJ Vic Santana, and food catered by Franco’s. Advance tickets will be
available at the regular membership meetings or contact Apriel Williams at
502-418-9938, Tara Britt at 502-419-4284 or James Wolfe at 812-595-0460.
UAW Local 862 Pool tournament – This year’s tournament will be held January
15, 2018 at Diamond Pub & Billiards at 630 Barret Avenue, Louisville, KY 40204.
Registration will be 12:30pm to 1:30pm for the first 64 players. Entry fee
(green fee included) $15.00. Added Money $300.00. Tables open at 12:30pm until
1:30pm for practice. First, second, and third place will be paid. 8 Ball-Scotch
Doubles-Double Elimination. You must be a UAW Local 862 active or retired
member. Refreshments available and raffles will be taking place during the

2018 OWEN C. HAMMONS SCHOLARSHIP – UAW Local 862 initiated the Owen C. Hammons
Scholarship Fund in 1988. Annually, Local 862 awards three $2,000.00
scholarships to the sons, daughters, stepsons, or stepdaughters of UAW Local 862
members. Applicants must be a high school senior and must be accepted into a
U.S. accredited college or university, community college, technical or trade
school at the time the award is issued. More information and applications are
available at either UAW Local 862 union hall. Your complete application must be
received before 1:00pm EST on Thursday, March 1, 2018.
