LAP BI-WEEKLY UPDATE January 26th, 2018
ORDER BANK:
2018 ESCAPE: 24,708 UNITS 20 Day Supply
2018 MKC: 3,237 UNITS 15 DAY Supply
ZERO TOLERANCE: LAP has a zero tolerance policy in effect. Conduct of a
harassing nature, whether in the workplace, social media, or outside offsite,
which has an effect of interfering with someone’s work performance, or which
creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment will not be
tolerated. Employees who disregard this policy may be subject to discipline up
to and including termination. Respect others. Be polite and courteous.
SUB-PAY: There are less than 40 people who have not received sub-pay. If you are
one of these few please fill out a pay order form in Labor Relations. The
deadline is the 29th.
PRODUCTION SCHUEDULE CHANGE (C-CREW) 2/4: C-Crew production schedule will start
at 6AM on Sunday February 4th.
TPT/STS to KTP: At the current time we do not have a tentative transfer date. We
will post updates as soon as we hear something.
2018 BLACK ACHIEVERS RECIPIENT: UAW/LAP’s 2018 Black Achievers Recipients are
Maurice Sayles and Ray Moye. Let’s all congratulate Maurice and Ray on their
achievement.
BLOOD DRIVE: The final numbers are in and we collected 216 donations. Although
short of our goal, we did really good considering the weather conditions. Thanks
for all your help.
AUTOTRUCK: AUTOTRUCK Financial Credit Union will be in the main café January
25th and 26th from 2pm-6pm both days. If you would like to become a member or
are curious about other services Autotruck can provide, please see Carmen on one
of these days.
DERBY MINI MARATHON 1/29: Louisville Assembly Plant will be sponsoring 50
employees to participate in the 2018 Kentucky Derby Festival (KDF) MiniMarthon.
To register, please fill out the form in Labor Relations and return to Labor
Relations no later than Monday January 29th. If more than 50 registrations are
received, employees will be in a lottery for the free registration.
WEIGHT WATCHERS 1/29: Last chance to sign up for Weight Watcher classes brought
to you here at the in plant Union office at a great savings of $107 using your
ETAP PDA money it will only cost you $25 for the 12 week course .Classes will be
held each Monday at 5pm to 5:30pm (leader gets here around 4pm for weigh ins
etc.) we will meet for 12 weeks starting January 29th. You must be there on that
Monday with your personal check made out to WW for $25 and sign your ETAP
voucher or get with your ESSP rep before then. Contact C crew Jeff Hale

questions or to get signed up and turn in your check.
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING 2/13: The monthly membership meeting will be held on
Tuesday, February 13th at 2 pm and 6 pm at the LAP Union Hall on Fern Valley
Road. Please make every effort to attend one of the Union Meetings. For all new
members, who have yet to be sworn in, please come to either of the meetings so
you can formally be sworn in.
DIVERSITY CELEBRATION DINNER/DANCE 2/17: Let us celebrate our differences at the
UAW Local 862 Civil & Human Rights Committees’ Diversity Celebration
Dinner/Dance that will be held Saturday, February 17th at the LAP Union Hall on
Fern Valley Road. Meet and Greet Cocktails will be 7:00-8:00pm and the
Dinner/Dance will be 8:00-12:00am. Tickets are $15 a person or $25.00 per
couple. Dress is semi-formal. Beer and cocktails will be available, music by
DJ Vic Santana, and food catered by Franco’s. Advance tickets will be
available at the regular membership meetings or contact Apriel Williams at

4th Annual UAW 862 Bowl Benefitting Junior Achievement 2/24: Spare a little time
for JA starting at 6:00pm on Saturday February 24, 2018 at Executive Strike and
Spare (911 Phillips Lane). Individual Registration $60 per person. Fill a lane
with five bowlers for $250 ($50 Savings!). 9-pin no-tap league style. Register
either as an individual or team on or before February 16th, 2018 and you will
automatically receive a ticket for the grand prize drawing; a night stay at
Horseshoe Casino and Dinner for Two. To register by mail, send a completed
registration form (available at either Local 862 Union Hall) and payment to
Leila Burch at Junior Achievement, 1401 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd, Louisville, KY
40203. You can also register by phone at 502-569-9212. Registration and payment
can be taken over the phone. The registration fee includes the cost of 3 games,
shoe rental and a PLAY4JA T-shirt. 1st Prize $250, 2nd Prize $150, 3rd Prize
$75. Door prizes, striker prize and great baskets raffles!
2018 OWEN C. HAMMONS SCHOLARSHIP: UAW Local 862 initiated the Owen C. Hammons
Scholarship Fund in 1988. Annually, Local 862 awards three $2,000.00
scholarships to the sons, daughters, stepsons, or stepdaughters of UAW Local 862
members. Applicants must be a high school senior and must be accepted into a
U.S. accredited college or university, community college, technical or trade
school at the time the award is issued. More information and applications are
available at either UAW Local 862 union hall. Your complete application must be
received before 1:00pm EST on Thursday, March 1, 2018.
