LAP BI-WEEKLY UPDATE April 13th, 2018

ELECTION OF 37TH CONSTITUTION CONVENTION DELEGATES 4/19: Polls open Thursday,
April 19, 2018 at 4:30am and polls close Saturday, April 21, 2017 at 7:30am.
C-CREW EASTER PAY ISSUE: Due to payroll technical issues, the adjustments for
the schedule change will not be on your pay-ending April 1st pay check. This
will cause an overpayment. The overpayment will be deducted from pay-ending
April 8th which is the check you will receive on April 13th.
VACATION SHUTDOWN: Vacation shutdown period is now confirmed for the weeks of
July 2nd and July 9th.
OPTIONAL LIFE AND ACCIDENT PROGRAM: The UAW-Ford Hourly Optional Life & Accident
Insurance Program Open Enrollment period for 2018 will begin March 19, 2018
through April 27, 2018. There will also be mailings to your home, as a reminder.

WORK COMPUTER GUIDELINES: The work computers are meant for work only. Things
like Facebook, YouTube, dirty jokes, X-rated pictures or movies are not allowed
and violate the company rules. When you click or open something on a work
computer, it is now in your history and can be pulled at any time for review.
Any violations of this policy can lead up to immediate termination.
REBALANCE DATES: Rebalance has officially started. There will be a small
(5weeks) break in the middle of the rebalance to accommodate the projected down
weeks and shutdown. Rebalance is 3/12/18 – 12/23/18
KCAP CANVASS: UAW Chairman and Bargainers met with Gary Johnson (Ford VO) and
Brian Goff (UAW Job Security) and have an agreement that Kansas City return to
basic unit will be surveyed this year for the opportunity to return home.

T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST: We are having a T-shirt design contest to celebrate the
grand Re-Opening of the LAP Community Store. Please get your artistic side out
and start drawing it up. We want something the everyone can wear and show off
our LAP pride. Something tasteful to all. The contest is set to start April 9th
and end May 14th. Winner will receive a $50 Visa gift card. Your design will be
displayed on T-shirts, TV monitors, and possibly other store apparel. Please
submit all entries to Greg Cotton via email gcotton5@ford.com .
GYM ETIQUETTE: Please make sure you keep all gym equipment in the gym. Some
equipment has come up missing and needs to be returned immediately. In addition
please wipe off the machine after you finish using it. All lockers that are in
the gym area are just for use during your workout, remove all of your items
after you finish.
SKILLED TRADES ONLY: The policy grievance attempting to restructure the language
concerning Holiday RDO vs RDW is still waiting to be submitted. The leadership
has several signatures but would like to ensure that all Skilled Trades members
that would like to sign their approval has had the opportunity to do so. There
is a sign-in sheet taped to the door of the Skilled Trades office upstairs. If
you agree with the proposal please sign as soon as possible. The proposal should
be in your Ford email or see one of the Skilled Trades Reps.
PATHWAY TO SKILLED TRADES APPRENTICESHIP 4/16-4/18: Sign-ups for the 2018
Industrial Readiness Certificate Program term 2 will be held in the Main
Cafeteria on the following days and times: April 16th?18th, from 4pm to 5:30pm
daily. A JCTCS school representative will be onsite for admission processes.

Committees will present a Union Engagement Workshop beginning in March. The
sessions will be held on Sundays at 1:00pm at the LAP Union Hall (3000 Fern
Valley Rd) and will last an average of 90 minutes. ALL members (KTP, LAP,
Leadec, USA) are invited to attend. Members attending all four sessions of the
workshop will receive a special token of appreciation for your participation and
be entered into a special drawing to be held April 22nd. If possible, please
RSVP with either UAW Local 862 Union Hall (502-969-9136 or 502-241-9491).

2018 FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP: This summer (July 22-27), introduce your family to an
once-in-a-lifetime experience! Since 1970, thousands of UAW members and their
families have participated in the Walter and May Reuther UAW Family Education
Center Scholarship Program. Located in scenic Onaway, Michigan on Black Lake,
the Center was envisioned by legendary UAW President, Walter Reuther to be a
place where UAW members and their families could come together to learn and
relax. All active or laid off UAW members in good standing are eligible to apply
for a Family Scholarship if you have never attended the program before.
Application packets are available at both Local 862 union halls. Deadline for
submission is June 15, 2018. Info on Black Lake is available at
uawblacklake.com.
UAW-FORD ROUGE POWERHOUSE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Ford Motor Company has
established a competitive scholarship program to assist UAW-Ford employees'
children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school
programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an
accredited institution of the student's choice. Detailed information can be
found at sms.scholarshipamerica.org/rouge/index.html . We also have
Applications in the in-plant Union Office.
COMPETITIVE BONUS 6/10: All eligible employees will receive their semiannual
$1500 bonus on 6/10. This will be before any layoff and will not have to be
claimed if the tentative down weeks happen as per retool schedule. (Must be on
active rolls by 5/15/18)
