LAP BI-WEEKLY UPDATE April 27th, 2018
ORDER BANK:
2018 ESCAPE: 51,988 UNITS 41 Day Supply
2018 MKC: 1,179 UNITS 5 Day Supply
ELECTION OF 37TH CONSTITUTION CONVENTION DELEGATES: A big thank you for all
those that voted in the Convention Delegate race. This upcoming convention is of
great importance to our local and the decisions that are made will directly
affect our future.
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING 5/8: The monthly membership meeting will be held on
Tuesday, May 8th at 2 pm and 6 pm at the KTP Union Hall on Chamberlin Lane.
Please make every effort to attend one of the Union Meetings. For all new
members, who have yet to be sworn in, please come to either of the meetings so
you can formally be sworn in.
VACATION SHUTDOWN: The Louisville Assembly Plant has notified the UAW and
confirmed that the plant will be taking its annual vacation shutdown. The
vacation period is confirmed for the weeks of July 2nd and July 9th. Employees
will be required to use up to 80 hours vacation or the allotted amount according
to their seniority during the vacation period based on the National Contract
Language (Article IX, Section 24).
TENTATIVE DOWN WEEKS: Louisville Assembly Plant will not run production for an
additional three weeks to allow time for re-tooling in preparation for the 2020
model year. The weeks are as follows June 18th, June 25th, and July 16th. If any
additional weeks are needed, notification will come as soon as we can make
official announcement.
UNEMPLOYMENT FILING: Official details about unemployment filing will be put out
before the layoff by Labor Relations.
COMPETITIVE BONUS 6/10: All eligible employees will receive their semi-annual
$1500 bonus on 6/10. This will be before any of the tentative down weeks and
will not have to be claimed if the down weeks happen as scheduled. Must be on
active rolls be 5/15/18.
WORKER’S MEMORIAL DAY 4/27: The UAW Chaplaincy Committee will be hosting its
annual “Prayer at the Flagpole” on 4/27 from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. Please join
us at any time through this hour in prayer and remembrance of our union
Brothers and Sisters who have died in the workplace. We will also be in prayer
for the future of our Plants, Leadership, and the emotional & spiritual welfare
of our Brothers and Sisters. Everyone is welcome to attend Hourly and Salary.
DERBY WEEK PRODUCTION SCHEDULE CHANGE: Please note the following change in the
production schedule for pay ending 5/6/18:
B-CREW
Tuesday (5/1): normal schedule
Wednesday (5/2): normal schedule
Thursday (5/3): production cancelled (SWW pay)
Friday (5/4): production cancelled (SWW pay)
C-CREW
Monday (4/30): normal schedule
Friday (5/4): production cancelled (SWW pay)
Saturday (5/5): production cancelled (SWW pay)
Sunday (5/6): normal schedule
These changes do not affect skilled trades. Please check your email for skilled
trade’s opportunities.
TPT SURVEY (Derby Week): Chairman Herb Hibbs was able to work out an opportunity
for the TPT's to not lose a "weeks worked" during Derby week. See your Process
Coach for the survey. The TPT's on B-Crew will work Monday nightshift and the
C-Crew TPT's will work Thursday dayshift. This is NOT MANDATORY but an option
for those who want to work.
PAINT GOLF SCRAMBLE: A special thanks to Brett Mitchell and everyone that
participated. $500 was donated to the LAP Adopt-A-Child program from the golf
scramble proceeds.
OPTIONAL LIFE AND ACCIDENT PROGRAM 4/27: The UAW-Ford Hourly Optional Life &
Accident Insurance Program Open Enrollment period for 2018 ends April 27, 2018.

COSTCO UAW/FORD APPRECIATION DAY 4/28: Costco will be hosting its 1st UAW/Ford
Appreciation Day on Saturday April 28th. Continental Breakfast will be served
from 8am-9:30am. This is for all UAW/Ford employees and retirees. Your Ford
badge is required for entry. For non-Costco members this is your one day free
pass. First 100 shoppers will receive a goodie bag. This is for both locations.
UAW SOFTBALL COACHES 4/29: Coaches meeting will be held Sunday April 29th at 3pm
at Fern Valley Union Hall in the Gym. This is a COED Softball League is
scheduled to start tentatively June 17th. Need to see how many teams (UAW 862
Members only) are interested in playing this year. 15 players max and 3
reserves. If you have any questions please contact Jay Henry at

WEIGHT WATCHERS 5/7: Weight Watchers Freestyle program starts back up on May
7th. Signups are starting now through that 1st week. Please contact your any
ESSP rep to get signed up. Jeff Hale 502-364-3687 leave message. Cost is only
$25 check made out to WW that’s a savings of $107.
T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST: We are having a T-shirt design contest to celebrate the
grand Re-Opening of the LAP Community Store. Please get your artistic side out
and start drawing it up. We want something the everyone can wear and show off
our LAP pride. Something tasteful to all. The contest is set to start April 9th
and end May 14th. Winner will receive a $50 Visa gift card. Your design will be
displayed on T-shirts, TV monitors, and possibly other store apparel. Please
submit all entries to Greg Cotton via email gcotton5@ford.com .
2018 FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP: This summer (July 22-27), introduce your family to an
once-in-a-lifetime experience! Since 1970, thousands of UAW members and their
families have participated in the Walter and May Reuther UAW Family Education
Center Scholarship Program. Located in scenic Onaway, Michigan on Black Lake,
the Center was envisioned by legendary UAW President, Walter Reuther to be a
place where UAW members and their families could come together to learn and
relax. All active or laid off UAW members in good standing are eligible to apply
for a Family Scholarship if you have never attended the program before.
Application packets are available at both Local 862 union halls. Deadline for
submission is June 15, 2018. Info on Black Lake is available at

UAW-FORD ROUGE POWERHOUSE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Ford Motor Company has
established a competitive scholarship program to assist UAW-Ford employees'
children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school
programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an
accredited institution of the student's choice. Detailed information can be
