May 25th, 2018 BI-WEEKLY UPDATE

C-CREW START TIME CHANGE 5/27: On Sunday May 27th, the start time for C Crew
will be 6:00 a.m.
EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT: Big Tire Event going on now. Call (888)353-3251 to get a PIN
prior to purchase. Offer ends 6/30/18.
EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION DAY 5/31-6/1: Sandwich, Chips, and drinks will be served
at 11am on A-crew and C-crew. 8pm on B-crew. Your Committee will attempt to
deliver them before lunch and B-crew break.
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING 6/5: The monthly membership meeting will be held on
Tuesday, June 5th at 2 pm and 6 pm at the LAP Union Hall on Fern Valley Road.
Please make every effort to attend one of the Union Meetings. For all new
members, who have yet to be sworn in, please come to either of the meetings so
you can formally be sworn in.
UAW NEGOTIATED 05/28: Memorial Day (UAW Negotiated Holiday). Enjoy your day off.
GATE COLLECTION: Veterans will be doing a gate collection on May 24th and May
25th. All proceeds will go to the Gold Star Foundation supporting Veteran

TOILETRIES NEEDED: A donation box will be at both halls and in the in-plant
Union Office from June 1st through September 1st. All donations will be split
between Wayside Mission and Center for Women & Children. Collect while on
vacation and bring it in.
BENEFITS REP: Benefits reps are on phone duty on the in-plant union off M-F from
9:30-10:30. If you have benefits questions please call 3654 from any in-plant
phone or 502-364-3654 from an outside phone.
DRESS CODE: LAP’s dress code has recently been updated. Please make yourself
aware of all the changes. All questions should be addressed with Labor
Relations.
REBALANCE: Rebalance is still ongoing and is not due to end until 12/23/18.
Please stay off your phones. Don’t watch movies. Don’t work through your
breaks to stay caught up. Stay in contact with your counterparts. Your
Committeeperson can’t help you if you’re helping the company prove you have
plenty of time by doing things that are outside of things on your OIS sheet.
PIGGYBACKING THROUGH GATES: Piggybacking or letting someone in with your badge
through the gate is prohibited. Anyone caught violating this rule will be
penalized up to termination.

LETTERS FROM VENGROFF: “Vengroff Williams Inc. is a benefits subrogation
company. They are a company that we use to verify that an employee’s medical
leave is not due to an injury caused by a 3rd party. For example, they will
contact employees who open a medical leave and reference an accident. Vengroff
Williams contacts the employee to see if another person was at fault for that
accident, essentially to put the financial burden on them, rather than our
insurance.”
TENTATIVE DOWN WEEKS: Louisville Assembly Plant will not run production for an
additional three weeks to allow time for re-tooling in preparation for the 2020
model year. The weeks are as follows June 18th, June 25th, July 16th and July
23rd. If any additional weeks are needed, notification will come as soon as we
can make official announcement. Stay tuned for changes.
UNEMPLOYMENT FILING: Official details about unemployment filing will be put out
before the layoff by Labor Relations.
COMPETITIVE BONUS 6/10: All eligible employees will receive their semi-annual
$1500 bonus on 6/10. This will be before any of the tentative down weeks and
will not have to be claimed if the down weeks happen as scheduled. Must be on
active rolls be 5/15/18.
VACATION SHUTDOWN: The Louisville Assembly Plant has notified the UAW and
confirmed that the plant will be taking its annual vacation shutdown. The
vacation period is confirmed for the weeks of July 2nd and July 9th. Employees
will be required to use up to 80 hours vacation or the allotted amount according
to their seniority during the vacation period based on the National Contract
Language (Article IX, Section 24).
UAW-FORD ROUGE POWERHOUSE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Ford Motor Company has
established a competitive scholarship program to assist UAW-Ford employees'
children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school
programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an
accredited institution of the student's choice. Detailed information can be
found at sms.scholarshipamerica.org/rouge/index.html . We also have

WILLIAM CLAY FORD SCHOLARSHIP: The William Clay Ford, Jr. Scholarship program,
which provides $1,500 in tuition assistance for children of U.S. Ford employees,
is now open for enrollment. To qualify, students must be sophomores in college
during the 2018 fall term. Details about the program are provided online at HR
ONLINE (under Policies and Programs), on @fordonline (under Ford A-Z Index) and
Scholarship America at www.scholarsapply.org/wcfordjr. Application
deadline is July 16, 2018.

discounts to Ford/UAW 862 members. Members’ 2018 Discounts are weekdays
(Mon-Fri) after 10:00am, 18 holes w/cart $25.00 (regular $35.00) and weekends
(Sat-Sun) and holidays after 10:00am, 18 holes w/cart $35.00 (regular $45.00).
Elk Run is five minutes from downtown Louisville, private lessons and clinics
from PGA professional staff are available, golf and/or pool memberships are
