LAP BI-WEEKLY UPDATE June 8th, 2018
ORDER BANK:
2018 ESCAPE: 43,503 UNITS 46 Day Supply
2019 MKC: 7,570 UNITS 51 Day Supply
STATE FAIR TICKETS: UAW/Ford have agreed to purchase Fair Tickets for all
employees. Starting Monday 8/13. See your Process Coach for details.
DISCOUNTED FAIR TICKETS: Additional fair tickets will be available for $5 and
includes parking. We have a limited amount of tickets, so don’t wait if you
need tickets. All proceeds will go to Adopt-A-Child. Come to the Main Café and
see Ralph Napier at the following times:
Monday 8/13 5am - 6am and 1st break (9am)
Tuesday 8/14 5am – 6am and 1st break (9am)
Wednesday 8/15 5am – 6am and 1st break (9am)
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING 8/14: The monthly membership meeting will be held on
Tuesday, August 14th at 2 pm and 6 pm at the KTP Union Hall on Chamberlin Lane.
Please make every effort to attend one of the Union Meetings. For all new
members, who have yet to be sworn in, please come to either of the meetings so
you can formally be sworn in.
WELLNESS CLINIC 8/13: LAP Medical is hosting their quarterly week long free
Wellness Clinic starting Monday, August 13th. Just show up, participate in the
free exam and receive a chance to win a new NutriBullet. Monday thru Friday
12pm-10pm
Medical will be checking: Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, BMI (Body Mass Index)
FUNDRAISER KICK-OFF FOR REP JEFF DONOHUE 8/13: Come out to support the
re-election of Rep. Jeff Donohue, Jefferson County Caucus Chairman, former UAW
member, strong supporters of teachers, working families & seniors. LAP Union
Hall from 5:30-7:30.
CINCINNATI REDS BASEBALL TRIP 8/19: Local 862 members can register for a CHANCE
to go to a Cincinnati Reds game on August 19, 2018. The UAW Local 862 Recreation
Committee has tickets, a bus, and refreshments available for the trip! The bus
will leave the LAP Hall at 9:30am and the KTP Hall at 10:00am. Approximate
return is 8pm. To register, fill out a registration form from either UAW 862
Union Hall, or the next Online Magazine and return it and a $20 cash deposit to
the LAP Fern Valley Road Union Hall. Incomplete forms will not be accepted.
Deadline is 3:00pm, August 10, 2018. If more applications are received than
tickets available, a “lottery draw” will occur. The deposits will be
refunded to lottery winners upon arrival for the bus trip or to those not drawn.
If your name is drawn and you do not show, then the deposit will be FORFEITED.
If you are selected you will receive a phone call by August 14, 2018. You must
be a member in good standing to participate.
RIDERS FOR HEROS 3RD ANNUAL CAR AND BIKE RALLY 8/25: Rally will be held at 2900
7th Street Rd from 2pm to 6pm. Rain or Shine. Bands start at 3pm. Bike/Car show
registration is from 12-2. $10 per person entry fee. $20 preregistered per
person includes entry and rally shirt. Bike ride starts at Bluegrass Harley
Davidson, 8am registration. Kickstands up at 9am. Everyone is welcome. All
proceeds go to local 1st Responders and Veterans Organizations.
THE 19TH ANNUAL GREATER LOUISVILLE UNITED LABOR DAY PICNIC 9/3: Celebrate Labor
Day with family, food, and fellowship at the 19th Annual Labor Day Picnic & Car
Show at the Louisville Zoo. This event is for union members and their families
and will be held on Monday September 3, 2018, rain or shine. Tickets can be
purchased from either Local 862 Union Hall before the event; $7, or $9 at the
gate the day of the event. Children 2 and under are free) Tickets include
all-day admission to the Zoo, Parking, Picnic, Food and Drinks, Car Show, Rides
for Kids and Music in the booth area. Food & drinks will be served from 11:00am
to 3:00pm. The picnic area is open 10:00am to 3:00pm. Zoo hours 10:00am –
5:00pm. Off-site parking and shuttles will be available. Registration for the
Open Car Show “Pre 2008” will be from 8am-11:30am; limited to 250 cars.
Entry fee is $25 (includes 2 admissions tickets). Thank you to all those
unionists whose hard work and dedication was instrumental in putting this event

HOLIDAY HERO BLOOD DRIVE 9/4: Blood drive will be hosted at the LAP Union Hall
on Tuesday September 4th from 11am-7pm. free aluminum water bottle for donors
while supplies last. Pre-Donation registration can be done online at
redcrossblood.org/Rapid Pass
BLACK BASS TOURNAMENT 9/7: Entry deadline is September 28th. Entry fee is $60
per boat. 7:30am – 3:30pm. All entry fees (less expenses) to be returned as
Prize Money. Contestants must be members of 862 in good standing. Scores
determined by weight. Entry forms located at LAP Union Hall. Call 502-969-9136
for further questions.
TRUNK OR TREAT 9/31: LAP will be hosting its 1st annual Trunk or Treat at LAP
Union Hall on 9/31. We are currently accepting candy donations for the event.
Please bring all donations to the in-plant union office and see Angie Golden
TOILETRIES NEEDED: A donation box will be at both halls and in the in-plant
Union Office from June 1st through September 1st. All donations will be split
between Wayside Mission and Center for Women & Children. Collect while on
vacation and bring it in.
BIKES OR BUST 11/15-11/18: We are taking bike donations for all new or gently
used bikes. Our goal is to donate 2000 bikes. Please bring all bikes to the
Union Hall during hall working hours.
