LAP BI-WEEKLY UPDATE September 28, 2018
ORDER BANK:
2018 ESCAPE: 23,259 UNITS 18 Day Supply
2019 Escape 36,893
2019 MKC: 5,306 UNITS 42 Day Supply
C-CREW START TIME CHANGE 9/30: On Sunday September 30, 2018, the start time for
C Crew will be 6:00 a.m. The reason for change is it’s the end of the quarter
and all units have to be accounted for. LAP getting better numbers on production
for the quarter and showing FORD Motor Company up north that our C-Crew/UAW can
work together.
HURRICANE RELIEF GATE COLLECTION: On Thursday of this week, 9/27 we will be
having a Gate Collections for A Crew at 5am, and B Crew at 5pm. Friday of this
week 9/28 we will be having a Gate Collection for C Crew at 5am. WE GREATLY
APPRECIATE EVERYONES HELP AND SUPPORT. Our fellow Region 8 Families are in need
of some assistance. If everyone would give a minimum of a dollar, we would raise
over $4000.
APPOINTED REPS ASSIGNED: Jamie Burke (Health &Safety) has reported to A-Crew.
Julie Parker (Health & Safety) has returned to C-Crew. Steve Milam (Employee
Resource Coordinator) is retiring and the position will be filled by Eric Oliver
(current FPS Coordinator). Dennis Skaggs will be replacing Eric Oliver on
October 8th.
VETERAN STATUS: The team at LAP plans to update our Veteran’s Memorial
tributes in the plant. If you are a veteran, please verify your status by
Monday, October 8, 2018.
VETERAN RESOURCE WEBSITE: The website consists of helpful resources including a
registration link for Veterans to receive communications on events and
activities that the Veterans Department participates in and supports.
MILIATRY VOLUNTEER: If any military employees would like to lead the Pledge of
Allegiance at any upcoming LAP Union meetings they can contact Chris Klemm at
(502)608-4118.
EMPLOYEE PULSE SURVEY: Starting September 24t thru October 12th, all employees
will be asked to participate in a pulse survey. It’s not required for you to
participate. Please express your honest opinion.
RTBU SHARONVILLE: Zone 10, Sharonville is currently surveying those that have
Return to Basic Zone Rights. LAP currently has 7 eligible and 5 so far will be
asked. Seniority cut off is currently at 9/11/2000. Please see Labor Relations
if this meets your seniority and you have not been surveyed to return.
FLU SHOTS 9/24, 9/25, 9/28: Flu Shots will be given in the main café starting
September 25. Please bring your insurance card with you. Only Ford issued
insurance will be accepted. The times are as follows:

STRIKE IS OVER AND ENDORSEMENT MEETING 10/6: October 6th at 10am on Capitol
steps in Frankfort Join the KENTUCKY MOVING PARTY as we caravan our U-Hauls up
Capitol Avenue to the Kentucky State Capitol on October 6, 2018. The Kentucky
Public Pension Coalition (KPPC) is holding a Remember in November Rally at 10am
on the Capitol steps on October 6, 2018. We need to show our legislators that we
didn't forget about their votes against public pensions and we are going to
assist them with their packing and moving on November 6, 2018. This rally is a
bipartisan event and will have multiple speakers from KPPC.
SELF DEFENSE CLASS: UAW Local 862 Joint Women’s Committee is hosting a
Women’s Self Defense Class on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 2 pm - 4 pm held at
Fern Valley Union Hall. The class is limited to 40 people on a first come
first serve deal. The cost is $10 per person. If interested, you can sign up
at the hall on Sunday, September 23 from 3:30 pm - 4:45 pm and up to September
27 from 8 am - 5 pm. Please bring your $10! Men are welcome, too!
LIGHT THE NIGHT 10/6: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk
funds treatments that are saving the lives of patients today. LLS is making
cures happen by providing patient support services, advocating for lifesaving
treatments and pioneering the most promising cancer research anywhere. And it's
all happening now. Not someday, but today. Each year friends, families and
coworkers form teams to raise money in support of our mission. This year, in the
fall, these teams and their communities Light The Night at our walks where we
gather together to celebrate, honor and remember those touched by cancer. Event
details are as follow: ?Registration Time: 5:30pm ? Start & End Time:
5:30pm-9:30pm ? Parking: Slugger Field Parking Lot ? Walking distance 1 mile
We have a team called Barrett’s Warriors if anyone would like to register or
donate. Our goal is to raise $3,000.00. No amount is too small.
BLACK BASS TOURNAMENT 10/7: Entry deadline is September 28th. Entry fee is $60
per boat. 7:30am – 3:30pm. All entry fees (less expenses) to be returned as
Prize Money. Contestants must be members of 862 in good standing. Scores
determined by weight. Entry forms located at LAP Union Hall. Call 502-969-9136
for further questions. Event will be held at Barren River Lake.
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING 10/9: The monthly membership meeting will be held on
Tuesday, October 9th at 2 pm and 6 pm at the KTP Union Hall on Chamberlin Lane.
Please make every effort to attend one of the Union Meetings. For all new
members, who have yet to be sworn in, please come to either of the meetings so
you can formally be sworn in.
HIGH FIVE TOUR 10/10: The 9th annual “High Five” Wounded Warrior’s project
vehicle will be visiting LAP October 10th. Don’t miss your chance to sign the
2018 Ford Raptor. Times and location coming soon. Get your pictures taken with
the vehicle from 8am-1pm.
SCARE THE LIFE OUT OF CANCER 10/27: Joint Community Service Committees host the
Adult Halloween Costume Party. The event will be held at LAP Union Hall from
8pm-12pm. Tickets are $5. All proceeds will benefit for making strides against
breast cancer society.
TRUNK OR TREAT 10/31: LAP will be hosting its 1st annual Trunk or Treat at LAP
Union Hall on 10/31. We are currently accepting candy donations for the event.
Please bring all donations to the in-plant union office and see Angie Golden. If
you would like to volunteer set-up, pass out candy, or clean up please contact

15TH ANNUAL CHAPLAINCY FELLOWSHIP DINNER 11/3: Our annual dinner will be held at
LAP Union Hall on November 3rd from 6:30pm-8:30pm. For ticket sales contact

RAFFLE WINNER: The Consumer Affairs/Union Label Committee’s hand a
“cookout” raffle basket that was drawn at the UAW Picnic. Dawn Berry was the
winner, ticket number ( 4287567)
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SCHOLARSHIP: It’s back to school time so don’t forget
if you have a dependent that is taking college classes they could be eligible
for the Community Engagement Scholarship for Dependent Children. Just go to
www.myuawford.com and log in if you already have created a user ID and password
if not create one then click on the CESDC and it will walk you through the
process to see if your child is eligible for the $1500 reimbursement. Everything
is done online do not mail anything in. Just contact your ESSP rep for any
questions.
ETAP: We are happy to announce that UAW-ETAP approved Northwood University will
continue offering accelerated Associate and Bachelor degree programs onsite to
Ford/UAW employees for the fast approaching fall 2018 semester. Your current
ETAP benefit will cover up to 21 college credit hours per year at Northwood with
no cost to you! Most classes are 8 weeks long and onsite courses meet for only 3
hours a week! The fall session begins soon. For more information or to
