CAMPAIGN FOR HOPE - You are invited to this community event presented by
UAW/Ford to educate and bring awareness to our UAW/Ford workforce and the
community on the dangers of opiates, the warning signs of addiction, and steps
that individuals can take to guide their loved ones to recovery. It will be held
at the UAW Local 862 Union Hall on Fern Valley on Thursday, October 25th from
5:30-8:00pm. Several speakers will be present including Rex Chapman, Former UofK
standout and 12yrs in the NBA.
SCARE THE LIFE OUT OF CANCER HALLOWEEN BASH - The Local 862 Joint Community
Service Committees are hosting an adult Halloween Costume Party on October 27th
from 8pm-12am at the Local 862 Union Hall at 3000 Fern Valley Rd. The cost is
$5.00 per person (advance or at the door). BYOB. There will be door prizes,
music, and a 50/50 drawing. Costumes are not required but are encouraged.
Proceeds from this event will go to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
FIRE PREVENTION WEEK – This week is Fire Prevention Week (10/7-10/13). Be
aware fire can happen anywhere. Check fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and
change their batteries. Know your escape routes. The life of your loved ones
depends on it. Adding a carbon monoxide detector to your home is a great idea.
SOLE-A-DARITY SHOE DRIVE – We are accepting new and gently used footwear/shoes
at both UAW Local 862 Union Hall locations. The shoes will benefit children and
homeless veterans. Refurbishing of shoes will be provided by Shoe Life
Alterations at 821 E. Broadway (502) 442-9719. Sponsored by the UAW Local 862

10TH ANNUAL JDRF OPEN CAR AND MOTORCYCLE SHOW (RESCHEDULED) – This event will
be held Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Louisville Water Tower. Show starts at
11:00am, awards at 3:00pm. It is sponsored by Ford KTP and UAW Local 862. Ford
employees receive $5 off registration with employee ID, or union card.
Car/Motorcycle Pre-Registration Forms can be obtained at www.fordktpcares.com.

KTP DIVERSITY DAY & WELLNESS FAIR – October is also Global Diversity Awareness
Month. Come join us for food, fun activities, and health screenings on Friday,
October 12 from 11:00am to 6:00pm at the KTP Administration Building Parking Lot
and Lawn.
VOLUNTEER DRIVERS FOR ELECTION DAY WITH APRI – If you are able to donate some
time on Tuesday, November 6 we need volunteer drivers to drive people to the
election polls. We will start at 6:30am and work until 6:00pm. If you would like
