It is looking like Ford Motor Company will be the strike target. Word through the grapevine is that Ford would like to close 4 more U.S. assembly plants and is signalling a hard line on any further contractual changes. There is a better chance we will be on strike after September 15th than any time since 1976. I can pay all my bills for 6 weeks without a weekly paycheck. Do all of you have enough cash on hand to survive a lengthy strike? Six weeks??? Apparently you don’t remember 76.

International will never allow a strike! Sadly, even if they did, so many members would cross the picket line it wouldn’t hurt Ford but would leave the rest of us holding the bag.

Six weeks??? Apparently you don’t remember 76. I remember the UAW strike against Ford Motor Company in 1976 lasting 28 days. I also remember that some UAW/Ford hourly workers went bankrupt. Do you remember it differently? And yes, I am prepared with cash on hand to weather a six week strike if necessary.

If it comes to a strike, Ford Motor Company will not allow UAW-represented hourly employees to cross the picket line. Mark my words. That is not to say they would not resort - at some point - to bussing in scab workers.

Ok, so can someone explain why we have a vote to say we will or will not go on strike if an agreement is not reached? Its the most idiotic thing we could vote on. We seen first hand how corrupt the voting system is last contract. Why give Ford a chance to win a no strike vote?

We seen first hand how corrupt the voting system is last contract. Why give Ford a chance to win a no strike vote? It gets a dozen or so people out of work for a couple of days. Perks of being a sheep.

Declares it's idiotic before even receiving that explanation...

When I went to vote Yes on strike vote I saw a lot of young ones showing up to vote. They feel strongly about it one way or another

When I went to vote Yes on strike vote I saw a lot of young ones showing up to vote. They feel strongly about it one way or another 1. They are the majority now, way more entry level than legacy here. 2. They should feel strongly they have been getting raped for years, good for them for showing up. Most of the entry level guys have been through this once now and have now been around long enough to know how this place is now, would imagine very few are willing to go along with just voting yes to anything the union tells them to. The STS & temps are for sure yes votes when voting comes but in my opinion this is the first legitimate chance at a strike we have seen in a long long time. Probably would have been one last time except for the fact the voting was probably rigged, I don’t know a person that voted yes & it seems the leadership up North we had then are all awaiting prison sentences now. Stay safe people

Can only hope so. A man is only as good as his word and these lowlifes have been selling us out for years. Hopefully the whole bunch them are having sleepless nights and looking over their shoulders all day......I do find it interesting that those on the other side doing the bribing have managed to stay out of the headlines, they are snakes as well. If all this isn’t enough to push the NO button the first time through this year I don’t know what is. We’ve been lied too for too long by both sides

On a strike authorization vote the total numbers have never been revealed.
My guess is this is so that the company is not encouraged to take a hard line in negotiations if the vote total is low.

UAW extends contract with Ford And Chrysler.Blah Hahahaha.Strike .?Fucking never happen. We aren’t the target company. Any strike will occur at GM first. Looks like they are maybe going to backdoor them with a smaller janitorial strike and not cross the picket line. Big thumbs up if this is how they start this game. This may get interesting

I know we aren’t.But it would seem to me you could at least wait til 9/14 @ midnight before you extended a contract?Never understood how/why you would EXTEND a contract.Seems sheepish to me.Theyve had years to get ready for this and now you extend? It happens each contract.🤷🏿♂️

If we walked out every time on Sept 14 guess what, they would have this stuff settled by Sept 1. Our dues at work in the hotels/strip clubs/golf courses. Nice long vacation for the bargaining bunch. Stay safe people
