Reading an article about VW rejecting the UAWs bid to organize.Narrowly failed at polls. They continued on in the article to say “We wouldn’t mind unionizing,BUT the UAW is way to corrupt for VW”?Imagine that?

The only way a union will be in any of these foriegn plants is if they start a new union. UAW will never be in them!

Crazy ideal, throw a contract in their face that you just negotiated for your current members that blows their mind. Leave them no reason to question your intent. A little old fashioned but I believe that would be the best recruiting tool possible.

Also, for Love of all things good give the retirees a good raise and cost of living allowance. Seems like once you retire your forgotten. How long has it been since they got a decent raise? With a the new hires not getting a retiree or health care after retirement ford can afford to take care of the past members.

Think how much money Ford saved by outsourcing cleanup?I know a guy that’s worked at Leadec for 6 yrs he makes 16.35 an hour.Theyve saved MILLIONS and no raise for the RETIREES?Sad really. But I’ll go quietly with my 3000 a month and NEVER miss this place.

Couple of points: Of COURSE you read in the press from there how corrupt the UAW is. Its a very GOP, anti-union state. And the state and local media is VERY anti-union.
The new NLRB ruled against the UAW, and will continue to do so, in matters of representation
The Republican legislature and governor ACTIVELY campaigned against the union, and hinted threats at pulling tax subsidies if they vote went pro union.
The final vote total, was 833-776. (That's REALLY close considering it the anti-union sentiment is stronger with newer hires.
Tenn. politicians CHEERED the result.
That VW plant will remain the lowest paid and compensated plant in all of North America.

The bad thing is with these foriegn automaker plants not being organized with a union is this is what the big 3 use to compare wages with to stay competitive.

We went 10+ years without a raise. We got a small one last contract and they’ll try to take it away this time. If your at one of these transplants why would you vote for the UAW? 70$ a month to get what you’ve already got.

But they are corrupt..Google Dennis Williams lake house.Built with scab labor and our STRIKE FUND.Yet we pay union dues? And forcing NEW HIRES to vote for last contract.i also READ that the VW workers are for a union but they just aren’t sure the UAW is the one.Because Of all the stories by the media(which are mostly true)
