The negotiators for both sides are probably already in the strip joints now celebrating the sell-out. I bet we’re paying for the booze and table dancing. They probably give us our whole profit sharing as a sign on bonus this time.

nra4life its a national epidemic man. "In 2017, an estimated 1.7 million individuals in the United States suffered from substance use disorders related to prescription opioid pain relievers and 652,000 suffered from a heroin use disorder... During 2017, there were more than 70,200 overdose deaths in the United States and 47,600 of those overdose deaths involved opioids. More than 130 people died every day from opioid-related drug overdoses in 2016 and 2017, according to the US Department of Health & Human Services" Not to mentionion drugs have always been an issue in factories.. the rising numbers just make it worse.

Ford already has programs to deal with that. If you want help you can get it. What we need is negotiators to get old people (25+ years) who have showed up every day on time drug free and retirees who did the same more money and benefits.

1.7 million? There are 300 million people living in the US, that’s less than 1% of the population. 130 people die every day from overdoses? 102 die from car accidents a day (google search). While I’m sure it’s tragic for those affected and their families i still don’t understand why the union is banging their chest about how it’s “the” issue in these negotiations. And doesn’t our current healthcare cover this? I know it covers for other substance abuse, not sure why it wouldn’t this, especially since it’s such a minority of people based on the numbers you quoted. Thanks, again just trying to figure out why they are going after this issue. Stay safe people.

nra4life lol im not advocating for it... just giving you the stats. The new technology could be very useful, def better then sending them to the brook imo. But overall I agree with you all. Not a top priority.

Opioid abuse is a societal problem. Ford/UAW already has programs in place to address substance abuse issues. They are making this THE TOP PRIORITY in the 2019 contract negotiation? WHAT THE FUCK?

Yep ..It’s gonna be truth time..Will they (newbies) get their 30.51? no chance O they will get it, watch the “shell” game unfold. Nothing like getting a nice bump in your hourly rate but losing profit sharing/benefits/etc. For every headline “win” we get, the backdoor screwing we get will be worse. Ford has MIT grads negotiating against the UAW Phoenix University online degree graduates. They are playing chess, we are playing checkers. Another thing, why do the negotiations always take place at Ford? Why do they get home field advantage? Why can’t they go to Black Lake and negotiate? Or one of the 2 dozen or so union halls that the UAW owns?

No way we lose our profit sharing.Unless we agree to it.But like I said 4 yrs ago New hires will never make 30.51.We are the end of that.Im hoping that Ford wants me to leave😊Then FTP

My guess would be that the current in-progression employees would get to top pay (over the course of 8-10 years of course) but only after we sell STS,TPT, and any future employees down the river. Apparently Ford wants to be a revolving door with nothing but part time laborers in the future.

Buy out legacy guys in the next few years. You then have newer guys making what we do now and company doesn’t have to share profits, union did their job of getting new guys up to full pay and look like heroe. Sit back and watch it unfold. Stay safe people

I’ll volunteer my spot ...250,000 and my insurance.or 2500 a month and my insurance + 75,000 250k? I’m sure they would give you that and be done with you. They break even in less than 13 years. $54 a year X 30 years is 1620 a month, 19440 a year. $250k divided by 19440 is 12.8 years of pension.

FYI, the new Explorer launch at Chicago Assembly plant is a cluster **** of epic proportions that is bleeding Ford Motor Company of cash at an alarming rate. The bad news is being kept under wraps. But customers are wondering why they have yet to receive delivery of their new vehicles. www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/67604-2020-ford-explorer-shipment-on-hold/The third Quarter financial results will tell the tale. Not only will this majorly affect the contract negotiations but it will also have a major negative impact on profit sharing.

Got a news letter asking to please keep the negotiators in everyone's thoughts and prayers as they go and negotiate on our behalf, lol. Are you kidding me? The only thing I'm going to pray for is my butthole. The crooked and deceitful UAW DO NOT have my/your best interest in hand in these negotiations, and you will see come September. Please pray they stay out of jail so they can negotiate Hmmmm or pray they go to jail Either way we are screwed
