If they do not raise the LIB/Life Income Benefit on our pension it is a big no for me. We haven't had a raise to our retirement in 12 yrs. Also, a raise for the current retirees is long overdue. I want to see this in the highlights, if it's not in there then it didn't happen.

($2k x 50k employees) Sometimes in life you have to take a stand. Seems like a good time as any, at least to me. I will vote no until they agree to a yearly wage increase, they can keep the signing bonuses, give me my cash by the hour. Everyone has their own issues and thoughts, those or mine. Never ever see those things.......UAW is so corrupt and crooked, they laugh at us while “negotiating “ . Big money for those at top , crumbs to those at the bottom. UAW doesn’t want to cripple the Big 3 or they’d be somewhat “real “ in the strike benefit pay. They know most can’t survive on the 250-275 it’s just a big dog and pony show. Take our union dues and use it to fight for our rights and stick all that political BS money they continually waste on all their BS “joint” programs . Mickey Mouse raises and NOTHING for retirees is shameful . But guess what , big boys get their double dip retirement at our expense.

I’m not going to say I’m for or against the TA until seeing it. It’s all speculation as of this moment.
While I’m thankful for the workers in the past that helped fight for what we have today, I’m not really concerned about them getting anything more that what they agreed to and were promised at their retirement.
As for legacy folks getting pension increases, which I don’t see happening at all, I think the best aim and focus would be for y’all to shoot for some percentage of Ford contribution to your Tesphe.
Once most all of the egacy folks retire, likely during or right after this upcoming contract, I think at that point we’ll have to fight for some kind of medical benefit after retirement, but that’s a fight for the future when the majority of the workforce is on more equal ground.
I’m 3weeks away from reaching my 8yr hire date/Traditional Wage. Its taken me 8yrs as of now. I was weeks away from converting to Legacy rate this time 4yrs ago under the 80/20 rule. If they are able to lower the pay progression to 4yrs, I’m all for it for the future employees. I’d be a bit bitter about having to wait twice the time as them, but I cannot change the past.
Most of us I’d have to say, if we’re honest, only REALLY care about what “my needs” are. I’m no different, but realize that in this extremely divisive political age, there are few things that have the opportunity to bring people together from a variety of cultural, religious, and political affiliations than what our union has. The diversity of the membership can have many valid reasons and ideas that can benefit most of us if we’re able to actually listen to them. The UAW has to broaden its political affiliations beyond the full-throated support of a single political party if the union is to succeed in these times. The UAW (us as well) need to be about succinct and clear ideas that benefit us regardless of which party or whom they come from. It won’t be easy, but anything worthwhile never comes without pain and struggle.
As for the iUAW, the corruption at the top MUST be eliminated first and foremost. Like mentioned above, all the IUAW positions need to be elected by the membership. Term limits for every elected position, but with a total years of service in elected office to be capped. These changes alone should address and account for the corruption under federal focus right now.
