  I'm not on Facebook, for lots of reasons, but someone shared these screenshots with me of what APPEARS to be an IUAW official expressing his desire to have tens of thousands of workers' lives ruined because their locals voted against the National Agreement. Does anyone have any more info on this or can show any more context to it? It looks hard to take out of context. If anyone can clarify that this is actually what it looks like that'd be great, thanks. If it is, then it's absolutely disgusting. |

As a proud union member, I'm calling for this man's resignation for discriminatory remarks in what is a Union due paying member's right on whether to vote yes or no! If the small rank and file are to be held accountable for their actions on social media, so should the higher ups.

So basically this guy is threatening extortion, which is a criminal act. If you don’t vote the way you want, we will take away you products and your jobs. That is definitely NOT the type of person that should be in leadership at the UAW, but unfortunately IS consistent with the greedy money grabbing embezzlers that have been running this union for years now.

I don't have facebook either. But whoever does should share this with the local media and see if we can't get exposure on this. As i feel it is our duty now to start cleaning house. Maybe some news crew can ask him about his comments.

He's an assistant director too, so clearly he must have some influence. It's very concerning for someone in so high a position to have such destructive desires against the very people he's supposed to be looking out for. Not so "Humble and Loyal. !!!" after all. Pray that he doesn't get any more influence after outing himself like that.

The end. Pretty harsh position for a so-called union "official". It's especially troubling considering that LAP is less secure than KTP for the long term future. Maybe this guy will get his wish one day at one of our local plants and get product moved north like he wants. He's already on the inside of the union. |

Everyone in our local should call, and demand an answer for what the union plans to do with this guy for admitting that he'd like to see tens of thousands of UAW families ruined. He shouldn't be in his position, and frankly he shouldn't be employed by our union at all, for any purpose. The company doesn't even want to close our plant for god's sake, but this "union assistant DIRECTOR" does, by his own admission, and LAP, Lima, and Chicago Assembly too. Ship all our products elsewhere he says. How can he possibly remain in the union after suggesting this? |

I don't have either Chairman's cellphone numbers, but if someone here is able to text this thread to them (so they can see the screenshots), that'd be great, so they can see how Michael Robison feels about their brothers' and sisters', and their own, futures. We can call them as well, and I plan to call Solidarity House (313-926-5000) this morning about this bs. If they don't answer I'll leave a message. If anyone has any other useful IUAW phone numbers that would be good.
I wonder how much $$ in union dues Local 862 alone provides to the IUAW, so idiots like this guy can sit in his comfy office looking down on us with such scorn.
Plant closings are a terrible reality that happens too often in this industry...
And this IUAW "official", who's suppose to have our backs, apparently wants to close 4 of them.
