Trim and frame are asking for volunteers to transfer from body shop. Nobody will voluntarily move so union saying they will start forcing soon. 2016 hire on my line have been told for 3 years they can't be bumped unless shift reduction. Now seems like that has suddenly changed.

Guy should be able to get.back to body in 12-15 years. |

"They can do that" Learn it, live it, love it.
Being here 20+ years, 10 years on the line in trim, 5 in frame. Its really hard for me to feel sorry for anyone who hired into body shop and gets bumped out, sorry.

All it takes is for them to cut jobs in body (doing it now) and we have a ton of TEMPS ,so they’ll say too many heads in body and send the lowest to trim.ALL TEMPS SHOULD BE IN TRIM OR FINAL

Yep, they’re cutting jobs in body. How ever many jobs get cut out is how many of the lowest senior people will get bumped out of the department. What the union was telling you is you can’t get bumped just because someone in another department wants your job, which is true, but if there’s a manpower reduction the lowest absolutely will be bumped out...

Then instead of you getting to go back they will put new people on those jobs. Meanwhile you remain where you were forced to go. Even with more seniority. |

If you have seniority but are “stuck” in final or trim, put in a transfer to body, stamping or paint. It’s that simple. In 2016 people out front were surveyed 3 times to fill the new jobs in body and paint. If you said no 3 times quit crying. You were scared of change and now a person hired off the street took the job, someone had to fill that job, wasn’t like they didn’t ask you 3 TIMES!!! But again, to the people in the body shop with 3 years or less seniority, your job is not safe. It’s a great department to work in (relatively speaking) IF you have the seniority to hold it...

Most likely they’ll cut from body then add TEMPS and leave them on there for year ..Pitiful |

Let me tell you about frame line jobs. Many suck now that didn't before. Us old guys knew where the stop button was. And we fought jobs.
Now I go back over there and new guys are CARRYING shit because "THE HOIST SLOWS ME DOWN".
Many jobs in this plant are bad now because nobody had the balls...………..

Yep it happened in BS ,old and young have their job combined and they just do it?Guess times have changed ?I remember excursion trim my whole team would hammer the Stop button to the point supervisor would almost be in tears.Now people just act like it’s no big deal?Sad.

Sad truth is that a big majority in Body Shop that are new hires, don't appreciate the great job they have. I hear complaining each and every night...whining about the person next to them over crazy shit that is none of their business....that's when they come to work. I wish I could have hired in to the gravy job they have. And no, I'm not hating....I just wish they appreciated they aren't breaking their bodies down that a lot of us older legacies had to endure. So, when it comes to being booted to a different department….well, that's Ford and nothing ever stays the same.

Funny thing happened today.Met a guy that is from LAP and just transferred over to KTP.I trained him and he told me he landed in trim,but put in for Body.I was like yep been there done that.He said “I have 8 yrs in !Cant believe they haven’t moved me yet”!I chuckled to myself.Took me 15 yrs in body just to hold days.
