Why/How does the union allow the Co.to change dates on OT days?Just got word Sunday the 8th is cancelled to the 15th.Lets say a person has a vacation planned ?Its 2 weeks away.Seems like there should be a time limit of 30 day notice.Union is completely useless. My theory is that week is PS week so they don’t want people to enjoy themselves.

Every 4 years I submit in writing for contract proposals that once the company has called a mandatory overtime day that you have the option if it’s cancelled to come in and work at least 5 hours. Cleaning, sweeping, whatever. I get laughed at every year when I turn it in. They get the option of scheduling them and then cancelling them with no penalty. People do the right thing and change family plans, sell football/basketball tickets, etc and then they cancel, sometimes at the last minute and change it to the following week....the exact week you changed your family plans to. It’s complete bullshit but they can do that is the common reply from the union. I just don’t go in anymore if they cancel and reschedule, I can do that if they can do that. F em

I argued with a couple of local higher-ups a couple of years ago where they changed EVERY scheduled extra work day again and again.
We're essentially on call if they do that.
No you're not, they notify you of the day and notify you again if they change it.
So if I change my plans to work a day, and they move it to the next week at the last minute then how am I not supposed to keep every weekend open? I'm essentially on call.
No youre not....
sigh
