Any rumors on shutdown?I know 5/1 is the deadline but who knows?

I don't think we'll have a shutdown this year. Its gonna be slow just trying to get back to semi normal times

Oh we will have a shutdown ..Allen said on March 27th Union paper they agreed to give Co until May 1st to tell us instead of April 1st.That or 2 weeks vacation for the entire plant.

They don't have to give us a shutdown we've just always had one. Only thing in the contract is they have to notify us by April 1st what the plan is for shutdown....could be 2 weeks, 1 week, or no weeks. We've been down over a month & things will be slow for a while but who knows I guess we'll find out next week hopefully

They had plans to put 1 billion into our plant. Before we left there was contractors bosses everywhere(orange vests), I am sure giving quotes and checking out jobs. I’d say if they still plan on spending the money, we will have 2 weeks of shutdown at some point.

If sales stay down you will have regular shutdown. If they rebound quickly (doubtfully) then they will say you already had a vacation and the national emergency will cover them.

We have over a month supply in order bank for 2 shifts. I really don’t think it’s gonna be that bad. Unless we have a real bad second outbreak and have to shutdown again. Most people are making more being unemployed and taxes refunds,stimulus checks hitting. People not doing anything has to have put money in their savings( no concerts,sports,vacations,eating out). We probably have the best product for a downturn. We will see I guess.

If you google “Ford summer shutdown 2020” there’s an article talking about KC plant and it mentions our plants🤷🏿‍♂️

It does not say for sure but IF the plan is to let C crew have the additional 5 weeks of TLO we need to flood our union leadership with angry calls e-mails and visits. Those weeks should at least be rotated like they were in 2008.

I usually don’t comment but quit crying about going to the job you can’t stop talking about no matter where you go. The young people on Ccrew don’t know if they are even going to have a job. You bi@:h and moan when you finally get rid of Ccrew for awhile and now you want them in the plant. No you are not staying home, get your a@s to work. Why wouldn’t Ford want the lead crew there to do the best job. If you don’t want to be there you had a opportunity to take the buy out like the rest of us. There is no one to cry to, so make your calls or emails. Lay in there and get it!

I would guess nothing is set in stone and any current info is subject to change or be updated. But I think c crew will be used to fill in for missing A and B crew people.If there is an option to not start yet, I would think at least some of C crew will be needed.
