President Trump wants all these jobs to come back to America and the Democrates will fight the hell out of him over it.

“Watch the gap But the underlying buzz across the U.S. auto industry is that the Mexican government has indicated that if the U.S. and Canada are going to reopen, it will allow the automotive industry in Mexico to reopen. At least that's what everyone believes will be the case, provided the coronavirus pandemic doesn't worsen south of the border.”
It’s clear the only hang up in Michigan’s governor. DFP doing some PR for her, it seems.

No way Ford gives a flying shit what some governor thinks. They're prob just focused on getting Mitch to push through their liability protection then it's full steam ahead. I'm also betting with no effective treatment in the near future, we'll be seeing a second wave of cases and deaths by July.

Every business that opens is rolling the dice with a lot of lives until we have reliable treatment/testing. Either way it feels like we're at a tipping point between money vs lives. Money usually wins.

There is no hurry to go back with almost 100 days of vehicles on the lots and the order bank low. We shall see.

Exactly..Think if we (all UAW workers)go back and people start getting it.It will look bad on them.Still don’t see how anyone’s losing money? The US government is losing money.Car SALES are down of course.BUT if you have committed orders then those sales ARE GOING TO TAKE PLACE.Now if we open and go through a period of no NEW orders I’d say we are losing SALES.They make money on EVERY SALE.They missed a target GROSS projection for the 1st quarter .They didn’t lose a dime.

To my knowledge no skilled trades were told to report on May 11? The original plan was for them to start a week before production?

I’m in trades and just got an email that I have to work next week. Subject to change tho. I would assume that means production starts the next week. All subject to change.

I do not want to name names... a process coach at KTP told me yesterday that he has been told to return on May 11. He is someone who is necessary to be there to prepare for a resumption of production. So I'm guessing KTP is looking at restarting the following week on May 18.
