I have a dumb question ...... I had some vacation time I got paid for...... why is it taxed at a higher rate than regular days worked???

If it was balance out vacation/personal time, meaning you didn’t use it, they pay out the balance at the end of your eligibility year....and...it is taxed as a “bonus”. Pro tip, use all your vacation/personal time, not doing so just helps them and screws you. Stay safe people.
