I guess the benefits are good?Ive been here 27 yrs.I’ve always had holidays,vacation,healthcare paid for.But I was a welder.I know one thing the retirement is a joke.1650$ a month.Of course it’s 3300$ until age 62 then “supplemental pay” drops off.So you take your SS or hope you have savings.I’m going to take my SS .It’s around 1800$ month ( before tax’s)and I have TESPHE to fall back on.Can’t wait to leave .

Ex Metal,little info for you here. When you start to collect social security (if you are under the age of 67) you can still make 19,650.00 per year without affecting your SS payout. If you make more than that you can open up a 403b account and place the extra in that without affecting your SS payout. At 67 when you are eligible for full SS pay you can make as much as you want without affecting your SS pay. This just in case you hadn't known about this. |

So one of the largest Aluminum plants in North America is closing for 9-12 months.Temporary that say ?Reason being ENERGY COST.They do not supply automotive industry with aluminum BUT I’m thinking more will follow suit.Times are getting scary over these fuel prices.Good luck

When it happens imagine the plant would go back to two shifts, work those two crews 6 days a week. Almost the same amount of production hours with 2k less bodies on the payroll. It will eventually happen, they aren’t putting a box line in up in Ohio for the fun of it.
