Rocky announced at the Union meeting that the Jefferson County (KY) sheriff's department just purchased more than a dozen new Explorers... so the next time you get served papers or take a trip to the hooscow you can compliment the deputy on what a nice well-built vehicle he drives :-)
If anybody remembers the exact number from the meeting please post it, thanks!
Also, Metro mayor Jerry Abrahmson committed to Rocky that Metro Louisville is buying a large fleet of new Explorers, in spite of his employee's requests for smaller Escapes. Either way it was a victory for Ford, but nice to see his honor step up and support the LOCAL plants as well!!! Way to go Jerry!!!!!!

Dont brag on Jerry too quick!! He got his ass busted at the union hall and left with his tail tucked betweeen his legs. The city had already purchased two fleets of Chevys,before the Ford purchase. If its wasnt for all the Ford employees,plus Comitto and the boys calling the council and mayors office,it would have ben three. Jerry is no friend to the UAW. He plays to the camera.

Don't take it as "bragging on Jerry"... I think he tolerates Ford because he has to. But this thread is about Businesses who buy Ford products, and this definitely qualifies, so it should be mentioned here. Besides, if you keep beating your dog even when he does GOOD, eventually he will turn on you... so give Jerry credit when it's due!
If I remember Rocky's comments correctly, it was the Metro Louisville Employees who wanted Jerry to buy other vehicles, but he went against their wishes...yes probably because of pressure... but he went against their wishes and bought Fords instead.
Ford has been a good corporate citizen in Louisville since 1913, but that can all change tomorrow. So when Jerry or anyone shows some support.... give it back!!
