Here is Missouri members have started getting new Insurance cards for a NEW PLAN. It appears to be a PPO. It also seems Ford may be doing away with the HMO Plan we have had for years. Changes in Dental also. Not all have the new card yet so we have very little information. "If" we must use Traditional BCBS it will cost many members hundreds of dollars a year just in office visits. Not including co-pays and or deductibles. This will impact retirees on a fixed income. Kind of a shame we retired with these benefits, and now they take them away. Changes go in effect Jan 01 ,2010. Many will put off going to the Doctor, and this will cost more in the long run. I never could understand why "all" UAW Ford does not have the same insurance coverage? I wonder if I can go back to work at Ford after being retired 11 years? LOL But it seems my old job (unloading) has been out sourced.

Yeah, my retired father received the new info as well. They are gonna have to change doctors and all kinds of good stuff. Maybe Obama will have something better for everyone.

I could never understand why each local had different local coverages. The one that matter's according to the benfits rep is the one I-UAW has gotten us in the National contract. That one is the BCBS insurance. I am surpised that Ford hasn't already given up all the local contracts. I do feel this is coming our way, just a matter of time.
