Unbelievable. We vote down his shitty concessions last month and the Eboard decides he is the best canidate to lead us after Gettlefinger retires.

He's 63 already...has to retire at 65...one big positive. His replacement will hopefully show some toughness as Ford returns to prosperity.

There is nothing in the rule book saying he has to retire at age 65. Gettlefinger stated that he would follow what all the other President's ahve done at that he will retire at age 65. I like the rest of you would like to see someone else other than King in this position. Until we can change the way things are done we will have to live with this.

Says so right here: Gettelfinger has said in the past he would retire at age 65 in accordance with UAW policy. He repeated the statement Thursday on Detroit radio station WJR-AM after a Web site reported that he may seek a third term.
Gettelfinger will turn 65 in August. He says the union has a policy of letting board members finish terms if they are 65, but other employees have to retire at the end of the month following their 65th birthday.
