Their time is coming...they will realize becoming the largest auto manufacturer is not exactly a good thing. With a record number of recalls this past year, their image is already being tarnished.

Toyota is a fairly new company here in the US. I wonder if they will be generous to their retirees when they start hitting their 30 years?

At Toyota they will find away to let you go when you get close to retirement. Or you can start drawing you social security benefits at 62 hopefully. At Toyota you pay into your own retirement fund, nothing like we have have here at Ford.Thank the Lord for the U.A.W!

Toyota has a 401k based retirement/pension, similar to all of our future employees will have...Toyota owes them nothing after they retire. Legacy costs, or lack of, are what separates the imports from us.

Toyota has a company funded pension, as well as a 401k that they match you up to 12%. You do not have to pay in to your own pension. It is funny the misinformation that people have for Toyota. I worked there for 10 years. I am glad to say I work for Ford now as this is were I wanted to work in the first place. This is not an attempt to defend them but just setting the facts straight.

Thanks for the correction...so you are saying they will have legacy costs in the future? That's good news.
