they are idled. instead of being laid off for a week because of faulty supplies. they are brought into work if they choose. thet are being paid. good PR for toyota.

I'm talking about the part of the article that states CLEARLY that these work groups meet after work and at break to "work on" issues.....
Sounds to me like they are doing this voluntarily on there own time.
Again, I'm not talking about them being idled. Reread the article. It CLEARLY states that they usually do this on break and after work.
I'd be willing to bet every cigar in my himidor, and every bottle of premum bourbon in my cabinet that they are doing this for "free".

I'd be willing to bet every cigar in my himidor, and every bottle of premum bourbon in my cabinet that they are doing this for "free". i don't know, honestly. there are plenty of times when we are not even in the plant, yet on the clock. if quality is a major concern for mgmt and employees, that would be a good time to address issues. in the end, this is a feel good story from the local paper. cigars and bourbon???we need to hang out.
