Hello, I would like to bring your attention on a new post published on the UAWLAP.org Site. Details of the post follow. In Solidarity, Steven M. Stone Shift Reduction at AAI in Flat Rock, Mich. DEARBORN -- Earlier today, the work force at AAI was informed that the plant will begin operation on one shift on July 12, 2010. This change is occurring because the plant will be able to meet required product demand for the MAZDA6 and Ford Mustang on one shift. This will also eliminate substantial downtime going forward. Approximately 900 employees will be affected by the shift reduction. I would be worried about this plant ,Kansas has not recieved a product as of yet.Flat Rock has a stamping plant and a plastic plant close to interstate. They very well could send our products to Michigan. It was built in the 80's. Prayers are needed, maybe not.what will happen will happen.

No, LAP received a verbal agreement from Bobnar and some kinda double secret handshake that didn't mean shit after he ran to KTP. Nothing in the contract stated Ford would not get rid of people LAP. In the contract, KCAP was guaranteed a product...big difference.

Havent we broke the current contract we are in already with the company trying to do it a 2nd time? Contracts dont mean nothing, the I-UAW has as much leverage as a toothpick, NOTHING is guaranteed. Until KCAP begins building a new product or LAP begins building a new one, nothing is guaranteed.

There is no such thing as a guarantee in the auto industry period. Ford will do what is best Ford! That is just a fact of today's auto industry. I believe the union can still be effective, but the sooner we realize that this is not your father's Ford Motor Co. The more effective we as a union can be at helping protect the worker who is still the back bone of the product we build.

Nothing can be done in regards to the contract without a vote...period.
