just wanted to know, who thinks that phone call is coming next month, for the voluntary transfer to chicago? i do....im hoping!!

Well I'll say this much. If I don't get the opportunity to go because of the layoff in Detroit or any reason for that matter...... The union told us at the meeting on the 8th that we should not take the offer on the 1st call because we will get a second offer in March that we will have more options such as recall rights with the $4800 pkg. or can still take the enhanced pkg for $30K. Plus said that we would get 30k to come back to Louisville. And they announce a day after the deadline that they are laying of 900 and they are in line for the CAP jobs..... SOMETHING STINKS BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear ya Dale, I found out about flat rock about an hour before the deadline, that sealed it for me. Hopefully I'll see you guys in Chicago.

The bottom seniority on the 1st shift at CAP is 6/6/2001. They have 1243 workers.

Dale, check out city-data.com , there are forums for different cities, look at northwest indiana. lots of advice from locals and stats on evrything you can think of. We are planning on going up in 3 weeks to check out areas.
