Ford strengthens powertrain lineup with substantial investment in Cleveland Plant
Further proof of Ford's commitment to providing class-leading fuel efficiency with every vehicle it sells comes in the $155 million investment and addition of 60 jobs to its Cleveland Engine Plant No. 1. The investment supports the new fuel-efficient 3.7-liter V-6 engine for the 2011 Mustang. The new Mustang engine is one of nine new or upgraded engines or transmissions for 2011 model Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. The Cleveland plant upgrade makes for a $1.8 billion investment and 1,260 jobs in North American powertrain engineering and facilities in support of 2011 vehicle launches – and there's more to come. more...

2011 Mustangs off to a roaring start
The new 2011 Mustang has rung up three times more orders than the 2010 model in the first month of the order banks being open thanks to all-new powertrains. Half of all orders are for the car's class-leading 30-mpg 3.7-liter V-6 engine that also delivers 305 horsepower. And enthusiasts are going for cars with a special touch. The first-ever Mustang Club of America Special Edition package has generated three times more orders than anticipated, with take-rates on the California Special triple the expected rates. Fiesta Movement Chapter 2 rolls out
The Fiesta Movement is changing things up for round two, and bringing 40 new agents in on the action. Twenty teams comprised of two agents each will redefine the way Fiesta is brought to market by interacting with consumers both online and offline while bringing the Fiesta into their communities. The agents will complete a series of missions where they compete in challenges locally that leverage the best of their communities, opening the discussion about Fiesta through social media and beyond. One mission is called "Show the World UR Personality," where agents will design their Fiesta wrap and have their personalized Fiesta delivered. Five years going strong, with energy to spare
Ford's actions to reduce the amount of energy used to manufacture vehicles and support its U.S. operations have earned it the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's coveted 2010 ENERGY STAR Award for the fifth consecutive year. The 2010 ENERGY STAR Award for Sustained Excellence recognizes Ford's continued leadership and commitment to protecting the environment through energy efficiency. In 2009, Ford improved energy efficiency in the U.S. by 4.6 percent resulting in savings of approximately $15 million. Since 2000, Ford's U.S. facilities have improved energy efficiency by more than 30 percent, which is equal to the energy consumed by more than 110,000 homes annually. more...

Less travel hassle with Ford navigation routing
Drivers hitting the road in new 2011 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles will find a surprise awaiting them in the form of their voice-activated navigation system's high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane guidance. The new feature, first available on 2011 Mustang, can tap into nearly 2,500 miles of HOV carpool routes on highways and interstates to help drivers get where they need to go more quickly and with less hassle. A white diamond icon illuminated on the map during route selection lets drivers know the routes include HOV lanes. more...
