Urea isn't a fuel, it is basically a liquid fertilizer type of compound that is injected into the exhaust system. This type of technology has been used for decades in other diesel engine applications. This additive will be available at dealerships, also truck stops such as Pilot have it all ready. Every Autozone and PepBoys will have it soon also. On average most trucks will need to fill the Urea tank every oil change or about 7500 miles, this is dependant on the type of duty the truck sees. The Urea injection is vital to clean emmisions and fuel milage. Ford is trying something new, hopefully it will be sucessful.

an engineer for Detriot told us before the launch that Urea is a Federal Mandate for all diesel engines that starts sometime in 2011. Ford decided that they would step ahead for the increased fuel mileage before everyone else.

Well maybe the consumers can bottle and save their urine...and just pour it in the tank...give it a try at least.

I would find it hard to believe that after paying $60,000 for a truck that my piss can help it run cleaner.
