welcome toyoda to supplier mass production. I don't think Toyota 's quality is getting worse I think it is just being reported, they can no longer hide the run-away vehicles so that breeds more story's coming out. I still think they are hiding the real software problem with there electronic gas pedal assembly. one thing Toyota does well is spread there money/influence around I feel that it is no longer enough so the truth come out more and more.

In reality, their 'things gone wrong' per 1000 vehicles is pretty strong. Their quality may still be pretty good, but I love the fact that perception is changing.
"Perception" can be as strong a selling point as reality. Look to the Firestone problem for evidence. I love that the perception of quality has been lowered with Toyota.
The public will only try to educate themselves on the competitors such as Ford. The product pipeline is what Ford needs them to look at when they do their homework.
As Ford increases market share and the volume of new car sales rise, Ford may have the same expansion problem as Toyota if it does not take a proactive hiring/ training strategy as the market expands.
I, for one, hope that Ford has learned from their recent, past mistakes in that regard.
