ROADSHOW for the week beginning April 12, 2010
Inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances may occur, so the
information below is strictly of an advisory nature and is subject to change
with no notice.
Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and
maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area
only during non-peak daytime hours and at night. Motorists should watch for
roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways
throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis.
Jefferson County:
Interstate 264: Lane closures and delays expected in both directions between
Preston Highway and Interstate 64 (mile points12.4 and 18.7) due to concrete
pavement repairs. The roadway may be reduced to three lanes weeknights Monday
– Friday from 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. After 10:00 p.m., the roadway may be
reduced to two lanes until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. On weekends, lane
closures are possible from 8:00 p.m. on Friday until 6:00 a.m. on Monday. The
speed limit will be reduced to 45 MPH in the construction zone and double fines
will be enforced. Construction is scheduled for completion in May 2010.
Interstate 264/Interstate 64 interchange: Shoulder closures and delays
possible at the ramp to westbound I-64 approaching the Sherman Minton Bridge
(mile point 0.1) due to ramp replacement. Motorists must follow the signed
detour via eastbound I-264 and exit at Bank Street where they can access
westbound I-264 and then rejoin eastbound I-64.
Interstate 64: Lane closures and delays possible between I-265 and the
Jefferson/Shelby County line (mile points 18.8 and 23.9) due to roadway
widening. The speed limit is reduced to 55 MPH in the construction zone and
this is a double fine work zone. Construction is scheduled for completion in
the fall of 2010. As part of this project, Clark Station Road is closed at
the I-64 overpass. The road is closed until November for removal and
replacement of the bridge. Motorists should follow the signed detour via US
60 to Conner Station Road (in Shelby County) to KY 148.
Interstate 264: Shoulder closures possible between US 60 and US 42 (mile points
19.8 and 22.2) due to construction of an interchange at Westport Road. Watch
for construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway. The speed limit
is reduced to 45 MPH in the construction zone. Lane closures and delays are
also possible on Westport Road between Hubbards Lane and I-264 (mile points 0.9
and 1.9). Speed limit on Westport Road has been reduced to 25 MPH in the
construction zone. Construction is scheduled for completion in the spring of
2010.
US 60A (Eastern Parkway): Roadway is closed between Hahn Street and the
entrance to the J. B. Speed School of Engineering (mile point 3.8 to 3.7). This
closure will allow for extensive repairs to the bridge over the CSX Railroad.
Motorists should follow the signed detour via Crittenden Drive, Central Avenue
and Third Street (KY 1020).
KY 1703 (Newburg Road): Roadway is reduced to one lane in each direction at
Produce Lane (mile point 0.99) due to bridge repairs.
KY 1065 (Fegenbush Lane): Construction delays and lane closures possible at
intersection with KY 864 (Beulah Church Road), mile point 10.0, due to
construction of a right turn lane. Construction scheduled for completion in
May 2010.
Oldham County:
Routine maintenance
Shelby County:
Interstate 64: Lane closures and delays possible between the Jefferson/Shelby
County line and the Simpsonville exit (mile points 23.2 to 28.1) April 12-16,
2010 from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning due to roadway
widening. The speed limit is reduced to 55 MPH in the construction zone.
Construction is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2011.
