Available Out-of-Zone Job Opportunities
(Non-Skilled)
Locations Posted: All Zones (Zones 1-30)
Excluding Chicago Assembly Plant
and Chicago Stamping Plant
Posting Deadline: Wednesday, May 5, 2010
The following out-of-zone permanent non-skilled job opportunities are available
to all eligible non-skilled UAW hourly employees for five (5) working days
until
Wedneday, May 5, 2010. Eligible employees are: Laid off (ILO) non-skilled
employees and active non-skilled employees. Anyone interested must sign up
NO LATER THAN 5:00 PM on the above date. Employees out of the plant/facility
for any reason are responsible for making sure their name is on the list for the
available opportunity. EMPLOYEES NOT ON THE LIST BY THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE
CONSIDERED FOR PLACEMENT ON THE AVAILABLE JOB OPPORTUNITY.
A decision to transfer to the available job opportunity is irrevocable. After
the deadline, if an employee has signed up, it is expected that the employee
will transfer if selected and employees must be available on the assignment
effective date.
Employees will be considered in seniority order (Ford Service Date).
Steps 1-5 of the Preferential Placement Hierarchy will be administered
simultaneously but selection will be in hierarchical order.
– Employees from Step 1 will be selected first (in seniority
order), employees from Step 2 will be selected next (in seniority order), and so
on.
Employees who rank (i.e. select) a location must be willing to transfer to that
location.
Volunteers who are selected may be limited to the total number of projected
In-Zone surplus. Selection could be from a combined list with other plants.
The posting process has complex administrative implications. Accordingly,
claims of violation are not subject to the Grievance Procedure (Article VII of
the Collective Bargaining Agreement).
Questions regarding the Placement Hierarchy or the available job opportunities
should be directed to your local Hourly Personnel Office.
