Ford Motor Co. announced a major shakeup Thursday of its Asia-Pacific management team, one the company says is aimed at strengthening the company's Asian operations and promoting "key local market talent" in the fast-growing region.
The moves announced late Thursday evening include:
• Appointing Randy Krieger to the post of president of Ford Group Philippines, replacing Rick Baker. Krieger previously served as president of Ford Japan.

• Replacing Krieger with Tim Tucker as president of Ford Japan. Tucker previously served as vice president of sales for Ford India.
• Appointing Richard Baker deputy general manager of Changan Ford Mazda Automobile, the company's three-way joint venture in China. He replaces Wesley Liu.
• Moving Wesley Liu to a new post at Ford's World Headquarters in Dearborn.
• Promoting N Raja to vice president of sales at Ford India, replacing Tucker. Raja was previously general manager of sales for Ford India.
As The Detroit News first reported Monday, the Dearborn automaker is concentrating more of its attention and resources on building its Asian operations now that its long-struggling U.S. automobile operations have returned to profitability.
They are part of a continuing shakeup by the region's new president, Joe Hinrichs, who was recently assigned to lead there following his successful negotiation of new labor agreements with the United Auto Workers union.
"These key executive appointments are part of a continuing effort to further strengthen our position to support an aggressive growth plan for our Asia Pacific and Africa operations," said Hinrichs. "We're taking advantage of a wealth of Ford experience and talent within the region to help drive the introduction of global "One Ford" products and world-class services."
