What has Ford told us to worry about that never came to pass, but some of us acted on out of fear?
Well, there was that town hall meeting earlier in the year when they told us we needed to make more concessions because Ford's precarious situation with all of its outstanding debt.
~ Well, they failed to mention that they were making profits that quarter and the concessions were not an absolute necessity like they led us to believe. On top of that, they shared the wealth with management and tried to leave us out of the loop.
I have no doubt that there are plenty more examples to be given and yet we keep making decisions out of fear? What gives? Are we really THAT gullible and scared to take a stand? Grant it, Ford has really boned up on human nature and pretty much knows which buttons to push to get the reaction they want, but we have to remember that anything worth while is worth working and fighting for and quit falling prey to fear. When we act out of fear, there is a good chance we'll lose for sure.
Can anyone else delve into their memory banks and provide us with other fear mongering situations that Ford has used on us in the past? And believe you me, it isn't only on a large scale that this happens, but also on a smaller scale and can be seen typically every day at any given Ford Plant. You may have personal examples and then there may be other examples that affect a far greater number of people. And maybe, still yet, the fear mongering took place at another plant that you worked at previously.
Note: Fear mongering definition: the use of fear to influence the opinions and actions of others towards some specific end.
