Weekly Update June 3, 2010

Union Meeting: Union Meeting will be Tuesday June 8th, Fern Valley Rd union
hall at 12pm and 6pm. If you are on a standing committee, please sign the book
for record of your attendance.
Password Expired: If anyone has not logged on inside the plant since the last
time we changed passwords; they will need to do so TODAY. Your password is only
good for 90 days, therefore it is going to expire and you will need to log on
and change your password. This can only been done from inside the plant
currently.
• Benefits: On June 1st, the www.myfordbenefits.com site will allow you to
not only manage our TESPE, but allow you to manage your healthcare. You will be
able to change & add your dependents, and healthcare options. You will need to
Log in the first time and set up ID and Password.
• Dependent Coverage: "The Benefits Office is still waiting for a
determination from National Ford regarding the eligibility of dependents from
the Health Care Reform Bill.“ Several members have raised questions about
Obama’s dependent coverage up until the age 26. We are waiting on
clarification of the language and guidelines for the plan. As soon as we hear,
we will notify everyone.
• Hot Summer Days: Please make sure you drink plenty of fluids through out
the day and stay well hydrated. As the temperature gets hotter, ice and water
will be delivered to your zones. If you have any concerns please get with your
committeeperson.
• Kings Island Tickets: Union Days at Kings Island are coming up. July 2
through July 16. Tickets are dollars each and parking is only dollars. A 50%
savings from general admission and parking. Tickets will be sold until June 30,
see Ralph Napier or call 3674. They will also be available at the union hall.
• Fitness Center: We have a contract to get our current equipment repaired
and upgraded. We need your help keeping our fitness center clean and nice.
Respect your fellow coworkers who use the equipment. Please clean them off after
you use them and put the weights up.
• Material Handling: Please obey all floor signs, and use your horn. Its not
annoying, you are looking out for your fellow coworker. Obey the 2 Foot Rule,
ride with forks less than 6 inches from ground, ride backwards with loads that
block your viewing area and most of all watch your pedestrians, they aren’t.
Please notify your supervisor of any hazards or safety concerns immediately.
• Pedestrian Traffic: Please stay out of all redlined areas without a vest
on. Forks are not expecting anyone to be in there area and are moving at their
own pace. Please use the shared walkways at all times. A fork weighs more than
most of us, so please make eye contact with the driver.
• Uniform Issues: We have gotten several complaints about seams coming apart,
severe shrinkage and patches tearing away from shirts. If you have any problems
with your uniforms, besides gaining to much weight and they don’t fit, please
call Ralph at 3674.
• Parking Lot: There have been several unauthorized non-Ford Brand vehicles
parking outside the designated areas on both sides of the plant. If you know of
any violations please call 3664 and report. Security has been authorized by Ford
to TOW vehicles that are not complying, at owners expense to recover. Call
Suburban Towing at 964-6500, avg. cost .00.
• Personal Lockers: The company is going to start inventorying everything on
each and every line, racks, lockers, fans, tables, hoses, etc. If you have a
personal cabinet make sure your name is on it. As we get closer to the balance
out all your personal items need to be taken home. The plant is going to load
all essential equipment on trucks and store them.
• Rumor Facts: Update – LAP Explorer last day is still Nov. 23. Sport
Trac will be balancing out at the end of October.
Have a Great Weekend
