The way I understand the scheduling is: Escape/C-chasis will be up and ready by April-July 2011. The Kuga has been scheduled originally, to start early 2012.

What I heard was the only reason we were getting the Kuga in the first place was because the European economy went bad & it was going to be cheaper to build them here, if their economy gets better we will never see the Kuga.

....its the other way around Lap65..... remember when the decision was made to build the Kuga... it took $1.56 to buy 1.00 euro.....now it only takes $1.19 to buy 1.00 euro.........so a year or so ago....if $30,000 dollar vehicle that was made in the US was sold in europe it would cost about 19,500 euros.... Now because the dollar is getting stronger....they would have to pay about 25,000 euros...

So you really think Ford plans their product builds based on the "Euro vs Dollar"? I guess they get this info from a crystal ball....... c'mon only Goldman Sachs can do that crap!!! The Bammer can only make the dollar look stronger for a litttle while longer eventually the truth will emerge that we have had the printing presses running overtime and the dollar will tank along with the Euro.

After snooping through resources at LAP, now rumor has it that the Transit van will be here too, in 2012. It seems that Ford sent some engies to LAP to measure out the differences/clearance from the Kuga and Escape to the Transit. Also told a Lincoln variant of the Escape as posted earlier. By end of July there is supposed to be a shit load of equipment coming by truck and rail that will be stored in the back of the plant. Bill Ford and Alan Mulally are rumored to be here for the last build and to announce the new products.

Transit Connect. Just to be clear. The Transit is full size and on a frame.

Transit Connect is a smaller van on a uni-body, Transit van is the big brother on a frame.

I have seen more of those Transit Connects in the past few weeks then any other van on the road. Looks to be a hot seller.
