Hello, I would like to bring your attention on a new post published on the
UAWLAP.org Site.
Details of the post follow.

Weekly Update June 10, 2010
Order Bank: Explorer 4,807, Mountaineer 211, Sport Trac 379, Total 5,397
Job Bid Posting: We currently have one bid. Bid # 654, Paint, Paint
Utility #3, 1 Opening. Bid will stay up till Monday at Midnight. The
critical jobs and personnel needed for the Escape will be bid later this
summer (July-August). We still do not have a lay-out of the plant and/or
manpower needs for any department.
June Eligibility Employees: We have received word from Human Resources
that Ford is not going to require any June eligible employees to take any
additional time besides their normal vacation down weeks before we actual
go down. All June eligible employees will be paid for what ever vacation
and personal time they may have left next June. December eligible employees
will have to use their time this year, but will be paid for what ever they
do not use, next year. (Skilled trades not included)
Family Days: Please make sure you schedule your family days before we go
down. Your committeeperson or supervisor can look and verify how much time
you have left.
Day Off Slips: Please make sure you are filling out your Day-Off slips
for Vacation and Personal time. We need the slips filled out for your proof
and our argument about the 8% Contractual Agreement. Please see your
Supervisor.
Tax Status: If anyone wants to change their tax deduction status for
Unemployment Benefits, may want to do so before we go down to make sure it
all gets processed. Some people will be laid off almost 9 months, and if
you are not having taxes taken out of your UI check then you could be
paying Uncle Sam at the end of the year. You just need to go to labor
Relations and fill out a tax change status form. This can only be done once
a year.
Restrooms: We have gotten several complaints about OFFENSIVE GRAFFITI
being displayed in our restrooms. Please refrain from writing, drawing or
engraving in and on our restrooms walls, petitions and mirrors. If anyone
sees such graffiti which they feel is inappropriate, please notify your
supervisor and/or committeeperson immediately. This is a termination
offense.
CCDW: There will be a Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapons course offered
again June 20 for UAW/FORD members. Please email j.king@jckyccdw.com for
more info and our discount. Just information sheets are located at
www.jckyccdw.com .
Calling all UAW Band Members: We are looking for all the UAW members who
are part of a band. We are wanting to recognize them on the back of the
Update and in our Online Edition this coming summer. We also want our
fellow coworkers to know where the best bands are playing so they can come
watch the UAW rock the house. Please give to any union representative. Info
needed: UAW band member/s name, band contact number, band name, years
playing together, next gig information.
ILO to Chicago: Some of our ILO’s have finished up their first week in their
new temporary home in Chicago. We have received several phone calls
from them saying the plant is total revamped, new equipment, and they are
being treated well. The ILO’s are just going to need some time to adjust
to the big city life. Next group reports Monday June 14.
Dependent Coverage: "The Benefits Office is still waiting for a
determination from National Ford regarding the eligibility of dependents
from the Health Care Reform Bill.“ Several members have raised questions
about Obama’s dependent coverage up until the age 26. We are waiting on
clarification of the language and guidelines for the plan. As soon as we
hear, we will notify everyone.
Kings Island Tickets: Union Days at Kings Island are coming up. July 2
through July 16. Tickets are dollars each and parking is only dollars.
A 50% savings from general admission and parking. Tickets will be sold
until June 30, see Ralph Napier or call 3674. They will also be available
at the union hall.
Holiday Conversion or Pay: Anyone that wishes to receive holiday pay for
July 4th, must sign the form in Labor Relations prior to close of business
July 1. If you wish to have the holiday rolled into a personal day, then
you do not have to do anything, it will be automatically converted to 10
hours personal.
Rumor Facts: Update – The first year of the Escape, Ford is expecting
orders over 400,000. We are currently still being retooled for the Escape,
so we have a product. Current LAP Explorer last day is still Nov. 23. Sport
Trac will be balancing out at the end of October. Everything is subject to
Change.
