If only politicians would listen to the people.......
Biden Calls Custard Shop Manager a 'Smartass' After Taxes Comment
Vice President Biden called the manager of a custard shop outside of Milwaukee, Wis., a "smartass" after the man asked him to lower taxes.
Biden made the comment Friday after the Kopp’s Frozen Custard shop manager told him that his dessert would be on the house if he lowered taxes.
"What do we owe you?" Biden is heard saying in footage captured by WISN-TV.
"Don’t worry, it’s on us," the manager replied. "Lower our taxes and we’ll call it [the custard] even."
"Why don’t you say something nice instead of being a smartass all the time?" Biden said a few minutes later.
Biden had walked in to Kopp’s mistakenly asking for ice cream instead of custard.
The manager said later in an interview with WISN that he thought Biden didn’t seem happy initially about the taxes comment, but that the vice president later whispered that he was just kidding.
Biden was in Wisconsin to hit the campaign trail with Democratic Senator Russ Feingold. Just days earlier, the vice president told a crowd of Feingold’s supporters gathered at a fund-raising event that "there’s no possibility to restore the 8 million jobs lost in the Great Recession."
He then added that he and the current administration "inherited a god-awful mess."
After he wraps up his time with Feingold, Biden will visit the Gulf Coast on Tuesday to survey the damage caused by the BP oil spill.

I don't know a lot about Biden. I do know the VP position has little control over anything. I have heard a lot of complaining about how politicians are out of touch with the "common man". Now here's a guy that talks like most people on the street, saying what he really felt, and he's berated for it?

He allready made rude comments to a person from the middle east earlier this year, why not call out small buisness owners too. I know, Im sure you will say "Well Cheney would of shot the sum-bich with a shot gun", dont matter to me cause Im not a Cheney fan either. VP BiteMe doesnt know a fucking thing about the common man and never will. Just read up on this jerk and you will see for your self.

I just think the media blows things like this way out of proprortion. This wasn't "calling" anybody out. He probably got the guys business more publicity then he could ever buy in a lifetime, it could have been staged for all we know. This is not news to me, just a part of everyday life, especially in densly populated cities. Politicians are just people, no different than anyone else.

The VP is not just a politician. Is the Queen of England just another peasant? Well to me she is but to the Brits she's not. I dont think the Pres or VP is royality in any way but they need to set better examples for our future leaders.

The VP is just a politician, in fact it is the position in the administration that has the least ability to make any difference. If you followed any of them around all day with a mic you would hear way worse than what Biden said. I agree our leaders should set good examples, in all settings. Yet Obama meets a foreign leader, gives a respectible gesture in that country, a bow, and the media has a field day! It's a no-win situation for anyone under the medias all prying eyes.

If we can ask military officials to step down for their comments, we should be able to ask our leaders to step down when they act like an ass. They are the ultimate representative of the United States.

Fox news had the store owner on the morning show. He wasn't even offended. He kept talking about how much he enjoyed talking to Biden. He lost his 15 minutes of fame if he said Biden sucked he'd be on Fox all week long, wrote 4 books and gotten paid 100k per speaking engagement.

Where where these outcries when Chaney said "Go F*&k yourself" of George Bush flipped the camera man off. People are people. I had no issue with what any of these people said.
