Hello, I would like to bring your attention on a new post published on the UAWLAP.org Site. Details of the post follow. In Solidarity, Steven M. Stone Ford demolishing Virginia buildings July 9, 2010 Associated Press Ford Motor Co. is demolishing buildings at its former F-150 pickup truck plant in Norfolk, Va., in preparation for selling the property to a developer. The automaker reached a deal months ago to sell the plant to developer Jim Jacoby, who plans to turn the site into a mixed-use industrial project that emphasizes green energy. The plant is on 109 acres and has 2.6 million square feet of industrial space. City Manager Regina V.K. Williams wrote in a city memo that Ford plans to demolish all structures on the site except the 650,000-square-foot main assembly building. About 2,400 employees had worked at the plant, which closed in June 2007.
