I'm sure. But, doubt old Bobby cares if it can score himself a congress seat in the future.

I don't always approve of Jessie Jacksons agenda, but a huge percentage of UAW membership does, and that is thier right in this free country of ours. If you are against people of color in the UAW that is very narrow minded in my opinion. Anything that helps employment of the working class of people, either in Detroit or anywhere else, is a good start.

Disapproving of Jesse Jacksons agenda doesn't make me a racist does it? I think many people disapprove of Jesse and his "shake down " tactics. If I don't like Mr. Jackson and his organization this doesn't mean I don't like people of color! The UAW would be better served if they stood alone.

Against people of color? Where did I say that? A huge percentage? Where did you get that statistic? It has nothing to do with color, it has to do with the fact that the man is an idiot. Why is it that any time someone disagrees with a person from another race they are labeled a racist? That mindset is very narrow minded in my opinion. And the very fact that Jackson is involved will cause people to not take the jobs issue seriously.

I don't read that anywhere, and I didn't mean for anyone to take my post that way. I do believe that if every working person in the U.S. could lay aside differences in race, color, ethnic background, and religious beliefs, we could have a lot more say in how this country is run and make things better for everyone of the working class...yeah I know I'm dreaming again...

"If you are against people of color in the UAW that is very narrow minded in my opinion"
A person that is against people of color is a racist. And then in this post you go into this "if everyone could lay aside their differences in race etc." I'll say it one more time , I have no difference with his or anyone's race, color etc. I have many differences with the man & the effect his association will have on the UAW. And everyone I talked to at work today (including my friends of color) feel exactly the same way.

As I stated, I don't approve of Jessie Jacksons agenda either, but he is entitled to believe the way he does in this free country of ours. In my opinion the article seemed to concentrate on the city of Detroit, which has one of this countries highest unemployment rates, also the hub of auto manufacturing. If it leads to more employmeny for the working man, no matter what color, I am for it. I do believe that a lot of differents beliefs hamper the ability of a union to achieve the things needed for the benefit of all. The UAW has aproximatly 400,000 members, way more than I could talk to today.

If you sincerely did not mean it that way then I apologize for jumping to conclusions, but I was not the only one who read it that way & every time you respond you keep bringing up color again, I never said anything about color in my original post. I also am for more employment for the working man regardless of color etc. I just dont believe it can be achieved by involving Jessie Jackson & I am entitled to believe the way I do also in this free country of ours, & I am also entitled on this board to express those opinions. Anyway sorry for the misunderstanding.
