Hello, I would like to bring your attention on a new post published on the
UAWLAP.org Site.
Details of the post follow.
In Solidarity,
Steven M. Stone
Order Bank: Explorer 4,076, Mountaineer 430, Sport Trac 1054, Total 5,560
• Rumor Facts: Update – It’s all CHANGED AGAIN… We will be down the
weeks of July 26 and Aug. 2. Looks like they are going to extend our balance-out
date till mid Dec, tentatively. Again, everything is subject to CHANGE.
• UAW Golf Scramble: The UAW Golf Scramble is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 15, @
Iroquois Golf Course. Check-in at 12pm and tee off at 1pm. $50 per person. All
participants must be UAW active or retired members only. Please make payments to
Local 862 and take to the Union Hall.
• Cafeteria Order: Did you know that you can call ahead to place your
breakfast or lunch order and have it ready for you to pick up in the cafeteria
or delivered from the food cart? Saves you break time and a lot of walking. Just
call 3667 from any plant phone or 364-3667 from your regular phone. Your whole
line can place an order and have it delivered. Breakfast plates, Biscuits,
pizza, burgers, lunch plates, etc.
• Uniform Corrections and Back-orders: Last Day for pick-up. If you got the
wrong sizes, missing pieces, or wrong order. Cintas will be in the main café
today to hand out the uniforms. If you fail to pick anything up, then Ralph will
have them in his office, ext.3674.
• Bid Jobs: The union still has not received the final draft of the plant
dimensions or the size of the departments to know how many people we will have
and where, what classification need to bid, how many on each shift, or recalls
to their previous classifications. As soon as we know, you will have plenty of
time to make a good decision on bidding.
• ILO’s to Chicago: All of our ILO’s have been told to report to Chicago
Assembly by Aug. 9. We still have some active to send to CAP and a couple to
send to CSP in November. Please keep these families in your prayers as they go
through tough times traveling to 2 different homes and the stresses they are
facing.
• Last Built Explorer Raffle: Tickets still on sale. Please see Ralph Napier
at F-19 or call 3674. Tickets are $20 a piece or 5 for $100. The Winner of the
20 additional ticket drawing was Edmund Wolf and the winner of the additional 5
ticket drawing was Bruce Borders. We have raised almost $22,000.
• Restrooms: If you have any issues with restrooms in your area, please
contact your supervisor and committee person. We have had a few incidents in
some areas that restrooms needed immediate attention. These are our restrooms;
let's try to keep them as clean as possible... Please give pole location of
restroom (example A-26), what needs to be fixed and or cleaned.
• Line Time: We are currently building to a number daily, usually around 480
to 510, with a suggested line time without any breakdowns or loss of
production.
• Part Shortage: France’s Local Union is having Labor Disputes that have
resulted in significant downtime for their plant and has cost us a transmission
shortage here and a few other Ford facilities with additional down weeks. As we
come to the end of the Explorer, this could happen more frequently based on
previous model year ends. As we find out anything, we will pass it along.
• Proper PPE: Please make sure you wear the proper PPE (Personal Protective
Equipment) as needed for your job and department. For example, glasses with side
shields, sleeves, coveralls, gloves etc. PPE is for your protection and safety.
Do not work without being provided the proper PPE to perform your operation.
Your proper PPE should also be on your JSA, please take the time to verify it is
correct.
• Tax Status: If anyone wants to change their Federal tax deduction status for
Unemployment Benefits, may do so before we go down to make sure it all gets
processed. Some people will be laid off almost 9 months, and if you are not
having taxes taken out of your UI check then you could be paying Uncle Sam at
the end of the year. You just need to go to Labor Relations and fill out a
Federal tax change status form. This can only be done once a year.
• WWW.UAWLAP.ORG : All Updated News and Plant information will be put on our
web page as we receive it. You must log in first to access website: The UAW
website is still your best spot for information if you are at home, TLO or ILO.
