This is not a union endorsed forum...we are lucky to see any on here. That's why we all need to thank those which choose to participate and do their best to keep us informed. What they don't realize is how their contributions do turn into votes. This board has helped get a few elected...and will continue to help be a voice for the membership.

the leaders are there and more to come but we as members do not attend meetings ( me included ) I have lots of concerns concerning committee persons being a little to comfortable right now and for a while honestly. How bout a committeeman work a job in their area once a week , never happen, how bout actually listening or trying to do what some people are getting hurt about we need people that have worked recently to be our reps or put em on the line and let bargaining Comm. do its thing and health and safety reps do there thing I do not need a flyer passerouter.Peace

I say keep a few , vote the rest out, their too comfortable, they have forgot how it is to work with all the bullshit if they have ever held a job. "Thanks Daddy" and no one with backbone to represent you. you have the feeling your alone when they say they can write you up and then fight it later with a greavance that never sees the light of day, I'm thinking about running for commiteeman my self to at least bust up the vote and if I were "lucky" enough to win a spot maybe the the Local would let you fight for the people instead of "hamstringing" you. Sorry to mess up your BBQ this weekend with the boys, guys

When election time rolls around, this board will be rocking. Trust me. It's a great tool to get the word out about the good and the bad reps. Utilize it!

Remembering where you came from and how you got the position you have should never be forgotten! I have done jobs in my area to free up Team leaders so they could take care of other members. I have never been scared of work and never will. The more I think about it what I probably should've done - due to a manpower shortage - was either make management get a person to relieve the team leader sooner or shut the line off. I just reacted to what I thought was the right thing to do because I had 3 Team leaders doing 2 jobs on both sides of a truck with the actual team leader that the job belonged to awol. I didn't work to impress anyone I did it to help the team leaders who's members had several lights on. What management should've done was turn the lines off and let those who needed to go to the bathroom go and come back. After several arguments over this issue with management I told the people to make sure they notified their supervisor of their needs and if no relief was brought to them within the alloted 40 minutes, go to the bathroom.
