May we all never forget the events of September 11th, the families of the ones who died, or the brave men and women that are serving our armed forces ever since.
I know every one will be into their football games today. Just take the time to say a prayer for the ones who will never be able to enjoy what we enjoy today.
Freedom is never free.....

I would like to know what everyone was doing at that moment the first plane struck the tower or when you heard of what had happened.
I was down at JCC tech school that morning when we were called out of class and into another room of the building. I remember them saying that a plane had just crashed into the tower. At first, I thought how terrible this was and how could this type of accident happen. I sat there horrified at the site and as time passed by, I shouted " WTF.... is that another plane coming? All we could is just sit there and watch as the plane just flew into the second tower. I was numb, tears just rolled up and I lost my breath. This was the worst thing that I have ever seen in my life. Now I knew that this was not an accident, but an attack on us. We all just sat there watching in disbelief thinking this couldn't get any worse and then it did. I remember hearing someone ask a question. IS THAT PEOPLE JUMPING OUT OF THE WINDOWS? I really couldn't tell at first but that didn't take long to realize that people were jumping to their deaths. At this point, I was scared because I was thinking that if we are being attacked like this, then what will be next. We all were making calls to those we love and to others to see if they were seeing this and I remember calling at to work to see what was going on out there. I asked the question, has day shift been sent home and are we off tonight? Ford worked everyone up to around 1 o'clock and did not cancell night shift until around 5pm and we had to hear that on the news.
I could only imagine the fear that those were feeling as they were trapped and knowing that its just a matter of time before they would die.
How would you feel if you were in a corner, that is burning all around you and all you want to do is just talk to your wife, kids, mom, dad or just your best friend to say that you love them and to never forget you? I know that I would be scared out of my mind but maybe hearing a friendly voice would help just for a brief moment before your time came to an end.
So let me know what you were doing when you heard the news. God bless the USA and the families that were torn apart due to this terrible day.

I was on the line in LAP's trim shop when everyone went nuts pulling out TV's they had hid for basketball. Everyone was watching and yelling"This is war!" At break, I made my way to the TV to watch in disbelief. Every emotion came over me as I wanted the U.S. to take out whoever had done this.
I went to lunch that day and saw no planes taking off or landing at Standiford Field. The place was just quiet. There were no engine noises, people coming in/out of UPS - nothing. Just quiet.
The quiet was deafening.
Today at the U of L football game I looked to the flags at the end of the stadium to check wind direction for a kickoff. They were flying at half staff.
