Skilled - Carpenter (2570040) and Millwright (2571660)
Locations Posted: CEP # 1, CCP, DTP, Indianapolis, LAP, Lima Engine, KCAP,
Monroe, Rawsonville
The following temporary skilled job opportunities are available under the
provisions of Art. VIII Sec. 22 (b) to all eligible skilled hourly employees for
a period of three (3) working days until 9/15/2010.
Eligible skilled employees are from the locations listed above and are currently
active working, on Indefinite Layoff (ILO), or working in production Carpenters
(2570040) and Millwrights (2571660).
Anyone interested must sign up NO LATER THAN 5:00 p.m. on the date indicated
above. Employees out of the plant/facility for any reason are responsible for
making sure their name is on the list for the available temporary job
opportunity.
EMPLOYEES NOT ON THE LIST BY THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THE
AVAILABLE JOB OPPORTUNITY.
Placement will be based on Date of Entry and the number of available
opportunities. Employees will be considered in seniority order and selections
may be from a combined list.
This is not a permanent job placement opportunity – this opportunity is
considered a temporary assignment. Selected employees will remain at the
facility for the duration of the temporary skilled job assignment unless
impacted by Appendix N of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The assignment
is projected to last until December 3, 2010.
Due to the temporary nature of this assignment (September 20 - December 3), no
relocation benefits or mileage reimbursement will be provided for those
volunteers who wish to transfer from out of zone locations
Seniority while at the temporary facility will be maintained on a separate
seniority list.
A decision to transfer to the available temporary job opportunity is
irrevocable. After the deadline, if an employee has signed up, it is expected
that the employee will transfer. Employees must be available on the assignment
effective date.
Questions regarding the available temporary job opportunities should be
directed to your local Hourly Personnel Office.
The posting process has complex administrative implications. Accordingly,
claims of violation are not subject to the Grievance Procedure (Article VII of
the Collective Bargaining Agreement).
