Board retaliation starting again?

Post by ScottR@KTP on Sept 21, 2010 6:09:53 GMT -5
I don't even know where to begin with this one. Let me start by saying I hate this place more and more each and every day...and I didn't think it was possible. And turbo, yes a little is board retaliation, but the shit is about to hit the fan for him. I keep calling out his inability to manage, his ability to create a hostile work environment, his ability to make threats, his ability to be a workplace bully, his lack of communication skills, and the list goes on and on. He has made verbal threats to me about NEVER calling him out by name on this site...which he can't do...will be addressed soon enough. Sad part, he's not the only one...they are numerous at KTP...I think they clone them. Regardless if LAP accepts an MOA after retool, the people/union/salary at LAP will never allow it to become the new KTP. No, I didn't get sent home, but I did get one hour of pay docked for Sunday night and had a hearing tonight which cost me another .2 pay...all for assumptions and accusations which had nothing to do with me. But it has cost me 1.2 hours of pay so far. Turbo, let me tell you how a typical night at KTP goes: I was relieving a job...line stops. Boss shows up, says you missed a tab...I ask what tab? We don't check tabs. He thinks we are supposed to check them. The tab issue causes a 35 minute break down, but it's not on the OIS sheet for the job. So he takes out his red ink pen, writes on it that we are supposed to be checking those tabs. Then tells me and the operator to read the changes and sign off. The job was just changed by the boss and he thinks this is procedure. A week later, I'm tagging the same job, boss shows up..."how long have you been here?" I say "12 minutes"...but he never asked how many units I ran or what the rotation # was on my 1st unit (which I had)...this is about 1:30am...about 5:45am I'm told that we are gonna have a hearing and that I'm gonna be written up for the missed tab. If the boss would have asked me how many units I ran, he would have realized the unit with the missed tab could not have been my unit. So my relief is over...I use the restroom, check on a job, and exit like every other night since Thanksgiving '09. So when I get back, they say I left early and my pay was docked. Then I'm told I will be getting balance of shift tonight to go along with my one hour pay shortage from the night before. Then the union talks them into not sending me home but to give me an R&W and .2 hour pay shortage tonight for leaving early last night...which I have been doing for 10 months. I am surrounded by incompetence at KTP. The amount of occupational stress in which you are confronted with on a day to day is almost unbearable. They want me to collapse I assume, but that is not an option. I am seeking the appropriate assistance I need at this time...some which I had hoped to never need as an option in my 30 years. Rodney Janes came out to see me tonight; and with his assistance, I am hoping the harassment will end soon enough. Keep Happy Land happy turbo...we will be back soon, just not soon enough.

Scott, you seem to have a really good head on your shoulders by documenting all the BS you are putting up with. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A COPY OF YOUR OIS SHEETS for your personal records and request copies anytime they are revised. Keep track of everything that goes on around you because there are guys wearing expensive suits who would love to help you. Good luck to you, hope that POS boss gets put in the unemployment line where he belongs.

It's more than sad Marcus, it's pathetic. I give credit to anyone that has spent all their years at KTP...I would have quit a LONG time ago. I probably would not have made it to the first buyout offer. ktpgal...contractually, they can keep us there until 7am. Every boss is different regarding this matter. Most bosses will tell you to do what relief people have been doing for the past 50+ yrs. I know what KTP needs more than anything...Donald Trump. There are so many bosses at KTP that need to walk into Trump's office and hear "You're fired!" Wish me luck...by the end of this week, I should have formal charges filed against 3 supervisors.

Bill Johnston showed me tonight that my lost time of 1.2 hours was taken care of...and my R&W was removed. It's pitiful that I had to even go through all that crap since it had nothing to do with me, but it's all good now.

just think if you did not push to have this issue fixed on your own, it might still be on your record and the start of the penelity process for you. There tactics work against many out here, the union does not always hear all of what's happening on the floor and even if they did it's not always treated in the proper manner.

You want to know the truth: Ford and the UAW are in business for the same reason. To make $MONEY$. The Union would not be in business if we did not pay dues (and a few of us get in trouble and require representation.) and Ford would not be in business if we did not sell vehicles. I have been at KTP for many years and have never needed union representation. I come to work "every day" and "due my job". I smile at the people that work around me and treat them with the same respect that I like to receive. Say what you want but Ford pays the bills and then some. Yes there are bad supervisors and I have had my share. There are also bad Union members and I deal with them just the same. Do yourselves a favor sit back and enjoy your life, It is to short to worry about people that may have a negative impact on you. If you don't like your job then quit find something that you love to do, If you like your job then choose to love it!!!!!

When Confucius retired from LAP he gave us a few words of wisdom before he left. "Always stand up for yourself and your rights, don't give in to intimidation or fear of losing your job because that will never happen(and stick)." He went on to say "All you have to do is show up for work every day and wear your safety glasses and you will retire from this job." There are a few other things that will stick...stealing, lying about medical records, threatening; but all in all the short quip from the philosopher was always good for a quick laugh.
Just watch my old pal from LAP and see how he plays the game. You may get time off but you will eventually get paid for it.

When I walked into the union office last night, the first thing I saw was the flyer on the big table. I almost laughed...like it was meant for me. If I thought it would help, I would get an IV bag full of B12 and wear it on my waist like a colostomy bag...constant flow straight to my heart.

Tony, I said wear it on my waist like a colostomy bag (location only)...not run the line thru my fecal canal...unless you run it all the way thru to around my esophagus...then out the side towards my heart.

LMAO...the last 10 months have been rough. I've heard the same thing from a few others. My hair has just about turned completely white. KTP is trying to break me, but I am doing what I need to do so I can bring back my 'Life is good'. The shaving is gonna be put on hold...getting ready to live in the woods thru the winter. I may try the shot...only wish I could get one in the plant during the shift. Why can't medical offer them?
